I’ll try the reset and update. I’ve done the OTA process several time since receiving the UTWS5. Familiar with the procedure. Never had a problem til this version.

UTWS15 ((NEW), expected to be available in the fall
The UTWS15 is the upgrade model of the UTWS5. The core architecture of the UTWS5 is still the one with the best sound quality among TWS products, because ordinary TWS products still choose the integrated DAC, which has weaker audio performance than the independent HiFi DAC used in the UTWS5. Even for the new TWS from vivo, we later got to know it used an independent DAC because it is attached to the noise cancellation function, but not using it for better sound quality like us.
So, the main progress of the UTWS15 is in some details of the experience, such as the size and weight of the charging case, the size and weight of the ear hook, as well as the new design of the contact connection. Old UTWS5 users are not necessary to upgrade it.

@FiiO This is a good news, but my concern is if ever we get the fix for so many UTWS5 issues or the R&D focused only on the releasing UTWS15?
I bought so many FiiO products, but now I very caution because the UTWS5 quality.

Thats great and all, but what is @FiiO doing to improve integration with the mobile app? Its great to keep coming up with new hardware but I would implore that the software integration is vital to a product targeted to audiophiles. While the normal consumer would not care about EQ or filters etc. but many, if not all who purchase FiiO TWS products would expect some ability to tweak the sound to their preferences. Many on this thread have said that the Qudelix mobile app is the best mobile experience in the industry and that @FiiO could benefit by creating something similar for their UTWS line. However, these comments have largely been ignored by @FiiO.

Its frankly disappointing for @FiiO to ignore comments about their horrendus app but keep pushing out new product.

Yes, I have had 1.5 for a while. It is more about the implementation of software and lack of improvements to the app. For example, constant connection issues, where the UTWS5 does not communicate with the app. Further, the EQ presets do not save and I need to do it manually each time. There is also an inability to refine EQ adjustments (e.g. Bass Shelf, High Shelf vs. just peak).

Luckily, I haven't experienced those problems yet. The connection has been solid to my phone and pc. Haven't tinkered the app yet (I rarely open the app anyway), so I don't know if the EQ setting doesn't save to the earhooks. Then again, I rarely EQ especially for wired IEMs.

One other issue is that multipoint never works as indented. Personally, I gave up.

just tried but sadly no. ie900 has a recessed mmcx socket that the mmcx plug of utws5 couldn't reach.

This has opened my mind to a wireless future. Considering in the next few years we will have lossless Bluetooth or another wireless standard, even as it stands now playing lossy aac, this sounds 95% as good as wired imo.
Unbelievable how far things have come. I’ve got a wireless IE900 and it’s blowing my mind.

I know a lot of time has passed , but… was confortable with those adapters?? I see at AEx they have those and the straight ones. I’m planning to do that same thing you did.

Sounds not so promising @FiiO .
The "self connecting" and the EQ settings loosing issues are so annoying!
Every time it happens (and it happens almost every day) I recalling the company with a curse words!

Please try to clear the pairing for your UTWS5 first: holding the buttons in the charging case of the UTWS5 for about 15s. And delete the pairing record in the Bluetooth page of the mobile phone. Then reconnect again for check?
