Let me put it this way. I have some sound interference in my recorded sound messages (I reported it to support), but don't have it when using ambient sound (I'm not talking about recording in this case). Ambient sound works remarkably well on pause (which is the only way I use it, so it is a splendid function for me).

So, if your team needs to turn off ambient mode completely to eliminate sound interference in voice messages, that is okay. I will live with it. But if these are separate issues, then it would be great to solve one without affecting the other.

I have long suggested making automatic inclusion of ambient sound on pause, but the suggestion was ignored. Now I don't care, since I have the second version and it suits me, but they forgot about it and there will be no more updates.

Hi @FiiO , just bought UTWS5 2025 and while on paper for each of the stem/leaf last for about 7-8 hours, on my usage with LDAC and aptX, it merely last for only an hour and straight after it prompt to me to recharge.

Is this faulty or is this something I should have expected?
More parameters:
Codec: aptX Adaptive HD and LDAC
Firmware ver: 0.58
EQ: user(1) with Gain changes to 3.0x
Lowpass Filter: Short delay slow roll-off filter

It should last more than 1 hour but the claimed batt specs are for with AAC@50% Volume same as any device unless otherwise stated.

Yep, that’s the time when I usually use ambient mode. Also at the gym. But I still don’t need an auto mode. UTWS5 is a wonderful niche product. Most of us bought it for the sound quality. I don’t expect it to have all the functions of mainstream TWS models.

Honestly, the only thing that bothers me is the sound interference in sound recordings (maybe in calls too). I would gladly trade the ambient mode for fixing it, but I am satisfied with the product nevertheless.

The Fiio Control app 3.29 doesn't work for me, it crashes within seconds of use and I can't control de ambient sound volume. Still hoping for a fix.

i got recently bt11 and i chose LDAC on pc use. is best quality for codecs right? anyway sound level little less i think id wait more loudly

Does the 2025 version with with Oneplus 13 or 12 with LHDC? I see this support LHDC and the phone does too but doesn't look like I can select that codec at all

Did you install the Fiio app? Might need to activate it there.

Yup, tried it and activated in the FIIO app. Used Codec switcher app on Android on my OnePlus 13 and still only showing UTW5S not have LHDC, the phone side, it does show LHDC support

The UTWS5 doesn't support AptX Lossless.
