Where do the screenshots end up? This doesn't seem to work for me.

Sits where it has the album art. You actually see it flash up on the screen. Up rocker and on/off button at same time.

has been released today, Fiio M6 with Air play

Yeah but I have the M9. James@FiiO said there would be Airplay on the M9. Also because myself and others like to cast to speakers or HiFi, UPnP is crucial. So apps and music players like HiFi Cast etc, with built in UPnP open up the M9 immensely.

I find it strange that no one else besides me reports about any sound issues (crackling noises with some tracks, see some posts above).
I wonder if it is realy only my unit.
I have uploaded a sample file. Probably someone could be so kind and download this file and check if there are the same crackling noises).
Please PM me.

Has anyone experimented with the different low pas filters? If so which have you preferred? Trying to achieve a slightly north of warm, natural tone (least fatiguing).

Wifi being turned ON on the M9 does cause issues with BT correct.

The Wifi (802.11) frequency supported on the M9 is 2.4##GHz which is the nearly the same as Bluetooth and has a lot of overlapp.
No idea which of the three (RF interference, lack of parallel synchronous wireless broadcasting prowress due to processing power, local electrical interferance) is causing it.

I avoid using BT when using wifi with the M9.
I find WiFi + BT + a lot of Qobuz downloads downloading over Wifi is a bad combination of tasks for the M9.

Some of my hi res Qobuz downloads - have crackles - I was doing a lot of multitasking at the time so will just try them again.

The differences are super subtle, IMHO almost impossible to detect - I suggest you just go for one where the low frequency spectrum of the music sounds the "best" to you. Then just leave it..

@JamesFiiO

Please consider whitelisting the EarStudio App to control eq on its ES100 BT receiver device..

Thank you

PM me a GDrive or online DL link

.

Yeah I've noticed it starts to get bogged down with Wifi + BT + Online Streaming with the FiiO Music app previously being open (and thus loaded in RAM). :/

That app doesn't appear to be 100% free though.

I'd prefer Fiio just fix some of the known issues with that device that have apparently existed since the M7's release. One of them being when typing in an artist (to search for an artist), the auto search results are showing non artists listed as you type instead of the actual artist. Also when you do have an artist that has been found via a search, clicking that artist plays all songs listed under the artist's name instead of giving you a sub directory of viewing that artist's albums and letting you listen from there.

It would also be nice if a scroll bar was implemented in their app, that way people have a quicker way to scroll through a large catalogue instead of using multiple hand swipes to go through their library (If there is a way to do this and I'm not seeing it, I wasn't aware of the snapshot feature, please let me know).

I haven't played around with this device too much yet since I got it, but I am planning on documenting all of the bugs/improvements I see for this device and letting Fiio know.
What do you mean with "100% free"? All the music streaming portals are not free! Normally, you need a user / password and $$ for a membership.
I miss many things @FiiO app, it's just a basic music app for me.... I need more intelligence, more database functions and more different settings....

Please check PM. Thx!

As a note to the public. Just did Daiyama's test and was not able to confirm any crackling on my M9 or when listening locally. Tested myself with a Hifiman Sundara with M9 at High Gain and volume at 115. Wifi and BT Off and no other apps running.

Might be a defective device, improper settings, digital file corruption at some point, SD Card issues, or headphones used and their electrical properties/pairing with M9.

Too many factors to isolate.

Try resetting and defaulting settings with NO wireless enabled (Wifi or BT) and with various other headphones?

After a complete charge, the battery went down to 25% without using it much.

Now my FiiO M9 is charging, 25% to 31% within 2 - 3 minutes! It seems like the battery increases every 1% so fast even less than 40 seconds.

I am using the included cable with a 5V 2A charger as recommended. From 28%, it shows the estimated charging time as 37 minutes. (photos taken if you want to see.)

Is this fine?

Edit: It takes 1 minute or longer per 1% charge when the battery is 80%+
Dear friend,

Please try to test the battery life according to this form?

Is there any way to take screenshots on this device? Also, how can I get songs to show up in the Recently Added section within the Fiio app?
Is there a specific folder that the music needs to be placed in? I see some of my songs showing up there but not others. I use an external memory card with two different sub folders within it to store my music.
Dear friend,

1. You could hold the previous track button and power button at the same time to take a screenshot.
2. Have you update the media library in the FiiO Music? If yes, the recently added playlist could show 100 recently added tracks.

Best regards
