Thanks James. I knew you would sort the problems out. For me the issue is when you search for an album it doesn't show the full title, it does though if you search by folder. Other people have said that there listings aren't showing alphabetically but mine is OK. Also looking forward to seeing the other themes, not sure if it will be with the next release or another future one but the one we have is fine. Main thing for me is that it has excellent sound quality and really good battery life for such a small player.

Had the X1 but the wheel was not very precise..maybe my unit was faulty and i returned it. I was thinking on the xduoo X2 (for the portability) but i really like this M3..maybe i will try it.

Someone on ABI bought a xduoo X2 and a M3, you can hear their thoughts here;

Very glad to hear Fiio is looking to address some issues with a firmware update!

I will be watching intently for your feedback on the firmware update.

The timing could be great as my Sony A17 is starting p___! me off.  A recent firmware update from Sony caused my A17 to constantly reboot on its own and most of my tracks would not play.  Sony quickly released a firmware fix and everything works fine now.  Unfortunately it has ruined the sound on my player making it almost unbearable to listen to.  The sound is now so harsh and bright I had to eq the higher frequencies down to reduce the brightness.   I am about to attempt to roll back the firmware to an earlier version in the hopes of fixing the sound.  If it doesn't work or it bricks the player I may have to kick the A17 to the curb.  If I do the M3 could become the answer to my prayers.   Praise Fiio!!

The M3 will simply stop scanning songs after a certain point. Like on my card, I nearly filled out the whole 64 GB, but the library stops at T (viewing the library alphabetically by artist). I believe someone in the thread said that the limit was at around 3700 songs or so.

EDIT: Yes, you can use the songs on the microSD card that do not show up on the library but you have to access them through the file browser instead. This limits some playback functionality if you're like me and like to shuffle through an artist's discography at once but have their albums in subdirectories.

A song limit has been an issue on past Fiio units as well, which was finally fixed on the X3 not that long ago (if it hadn't been addressed, I would have dumped it for a different player). Hopefully they will fix it on the M3.
