Since 2021, we have had four launch events held where several adorable products were released. The second half of the year also means a lot to FiiO. Among the product line of music players, users have more expectations for us after the M11/M11Pro/M15. Today, we are going to introduce a brand new music player for you- the #FiiO Portable Desktop-Class Player M17#.

How could a device be called a portable desktop-class device? The M17 uses two top-tier ES9038PRO DAC chips. This means that each audio channel has 8 parallel outputs summed together for superior resolution and minimal distortion for extremely pure audio reproduction. The THX 788+ amplifier exclusively designed for desktop devices can easily drive most headphones on the market. It contains two power supplies – a battery power supply and a power supply powered by external DC power. In addition, there is desktop-level connectivity, desktop-tier heat dissipation, etc.

The M17 contains overall 5 gains being high, medium, low, and enhanced over-ear headphone mode, each of which supports 120 levels of volume adjustment. The accurate volume adjustment allows you to adjust the volume to a more appropriate level whenever driving high-impedance headphones or high-sensitivity earbuds. When under DC mode, the enhanced over-ear headphone mode gain will be unlocked. At this time, the maximum output power goes up to 3W under 32Ω.

Other than the desktop-class DAC, the M17 has outstanding configurations in other parts: the 470mF DMF supercapacitor equivalent to 10,000 47uF tantalum capacitors applied provides a solid foundation for a large power supply; the Ti LT3045 LDO provides clean power to the DAC chip.

The M17 also stands out in anti-interference. Within the M17 are 17 PCBs with immersion gold finish, with the analog and digital sections physically separated by being on two different boards to reduce interference between the two portions. The inner structure went through 6 major design iterations with 12 rounds of internal structural design optimization, so that it can stuff so many different setups and connectors with each connector standing perfectly in one line.

The M17 takes an all-new design language, FiiO's 7th-gen mech design, evoking a sense of technological wonder. 12 RGB indicator lights lie in the volume knob, left and right sides with extensive customization options, such as colors and brightness. A larger screen allows you to more easily enjoy stunning visuals. Let your eyes feast upon an upgraded 5.99-inch, FHD+ 18:9 high-definition incell display. Besides, you can quickly and easily go through 120 levels of volume through either the analog potentiometer volume knob or physical buttons.

The M17 has smooth smartphone-like performance thanks to the Snapdragon 660 SoC and open Android 10 OS with Google Play support to install 3rd party apps. The USB receiver chip is the XMOS XUF208 which supports up to 768kHz and DSD512. The new-gen flagship QCC5124 supports aptX Adaptive, making for a Hi-Res audio experience even when you are hanging out.

Since the M17 has ultra high power consumption, the large 9200mA battery capacity only allows a continuous playback for about 10.6 hours under single-ended output, and about 8.6 hours under balanced output.
