I would love the iPhone decoding in USB DAC mode that the M15S and the M11S received.
And I really miss some sort of system wide EQ/PEQ on the M17: that would make it absolutely perfect! I use it a lot on my BTR7, and really miss being able to apply EQ to any app on my M17! I know the Q7 has received it recently via the XMOS update.
Poweramp EQ Android's APP is, by far, the best Parametric Equilizer on the market, with even now, since last update, a direct access to all AutoEQ project EQ parameters available..
It can apply a perfect PEQ to any streaming APP or HiRES players (QObuz, Tidal, Amazon, UAPP, Neutron, Mconnect) on the M17, even to a bluetooth TWS output ..
I use this since the day M17 was available in Europe and I bought it.. I think no other App are as powerful.
Apparently, when it DC mode, only the amps are powered by it, the rest of the machine runs on the battery. I always assumed that the entire unit was powered by DC bypassing the battery
We checked with the software engineer again. In DC mode, the power supply is provided by the DC adapter. Only when the DC adapter failed to provide enough power for the device, the battery will work at that time.

1. Please update the XMOS firmware attached in for the M17 to check whether it helps:
(Set the M17 to USB DAC mode and connect it to computer, run the FiiODfu and select the firmware file. Then start the update.)
2. System EQ support is not easy to realize for M17. We will try to improve.
I second the suggestion to support more streaming apps.
One issue I've noticed in the FiiO Music app is when I browse Local Music the files are not sorted. At the top level where it lists Internal Storage and microSD Card, the menu on the top right has options to Sort by filename or Sort by first letter. But no matter what I choose, when I dig down into the folders under microSD Card the files are not in any consistent order.
I suspect what may be happening is 1. the app is listing the files in the order they were created on the file system, and 2. the file creation order is random because I'm using Resilio Sync to sync my music library from my file server to the M17 and other devices. It would be great if there were a way to resolve this.
The FiiO R7 is an absolutely beautiful bit of kit. It has ultimate functionality being ‘Roon Ready’, and it sounds absolutely superb
But if you have an R7 don’t, for the love of god, listen to a FiiO M17. I have one (unfortunately!) and it makes the R7 sound like a circa-2000 MP3 player. screw FiiO, the clever bastards!
As soon as Disclosure announced, and subsequently dropped, their new album tonight (UK time, Friday 14/07/23), woke up and went to spin it via my FiiO M17 digital desktop player and T+A Solitaire T headphones in balanced mode!
Love the more laid back, groovy, and warm glow of the album, with a few club highlights too (opener track Looking for Love, and my favourite track 7 We were in Love).
Also, nice to hear chilled drum and bass too via track 3, Higher than Ever Before.
