I use the M17 with mine just fine. Very good synergy.Curios, I have a pair of easy to drive UM Mest MK2 IEM's that I want to use with my m17. I have heard great things about Enhanced Over Ear Mode even with easy to drive IEM. What do you recommend for an easy to drive IEM. low / medium gain is my normal goto or up the gain all the way to EOEM and backoff on the volume. Any downside to EOEM with gem's. Thanks in advance.

I can recommend the FiiO FH9 to a fellow Stealth owner. Has more bass and slight less mids but I like it with M17.You did not answer the question.

PS: Sorry, I got the question wrong.

We have not received a concrete answer.
Question: 1) low gain (battery) or 2) up the gain all the way to EOEM and backoff on the volume (external power supply).
Yes or no!

Dear friend,https://audio46.com/collections/dd-...m-female-to-3-5mm-male-headphone-jack-adapter
Do you recommend this adapter?
This is 4.4 felmale to 3.5 male adapter, so it is not suitable for the 4.4 mm jack of the M17.
Best regards

Just if I have a cable with a 4.4 jack, and I want to connect to a 3.5 connector

Yes, it could work if you would like to use the 3.5mm output of the M17 instead.
Best regards

Will IEMs break when used in enhanced over-ear headphones mode (DC )?

You should be fine but careful with volume. I am running all my gear at EOEM, but using only headphones such as Cascade, LCD2 CB, HD800S... tried iems and running perfect just using 30ish out of 120 volume.

With the FH9's IEM's I use medium gain in both, Battery or DC mode. That's plenty power for their low impedance. We have not received a concrete answer.

Pumping more power does not necessarily translate into better sound definition. For instance, the recommended maximum for the FH9's is a mere 100mw. Match the output to recommended values and you'll be in the optimal sweet spot.
