Funnily enough the standby draw can be less on nvme over microSD. And with race to sleep a sufficiently large buffer could allow the nvme drive to get back to standby more quickly.

The ESS are more warm sounding and the AKM are more smooth sounding. I personally actually prefer the AKMs, but that's just my taste

Not, in fact, we plan to remove the optical out from m17 because we can't figure out how to protect the optical connector.
