Not really M17 related, but has anyone tried the new PowerAmp Equalizer application? It has an advanced mode, which might attach to the streams on DAPs where Wavelet doesn't work. Can someone please try it on a FiiO DAP, for example to EQ Qobuz or the native player? I currently have no DAPs.

Try Wavelet, it will be better, since you can choose the type of headphone you are using and it will EQ to that frequency.

And impossible to use with the quick navigation bar in FiiO's app by pressing and selecting letters on the right column. There isn't enough space to select the letters.

@FiiO Is it possible to increase the width of the quick navigation bar in your app so we can use the app with the cover on?
Thanks for the feedback. We will report to the engineer for assessing about that.

Best regards

Comprehensive Progress! FiiO Portable Desktop-Class Player M17 Is Officially Released!

5161826.jpg

The smart desktop-class M17 is an entirely new chapter of FiiO digital audio players. Its desktop-grade DAC, amplification, power supply, etc. give it the output power and sound quality to rival and perhaps even surpass highly-regarded desktop systems – but in a portable package.

The left and right audio channels each contain a desktop-class, 8-channel ES9038PRO flagship DAC. This means that each audio channel has 8 parallel outputs summed together for superior resolution and minimal distortion for extremely pure audio reproduction.

The desktop-class THX 788+ headphone amp has an output power of up to 3000mW per channel with a lower output impedance – allowing it to more effortlessly power all kinds of headphones.

Desktop-grade power supply and gain: the M17 contains two power supplies – a battery power supply and a power supply powered by external DC power. Under battery power, there are 4 gain levels: low, medium, high, and headphone mode. When under DC mode, the enhanced over-ear headphone mode gain is unlocked which can go as high as 16dB in balanced output.

Desktop-caliber internals: high-end TI OPA2211 op-amp, supercapacitor, ultra-low noise LT3045 LDO, NDK femtosecond crystal oscillator, etc.

Desktop-level connectivity: not only supports commonly used 2.5mm/3.5mm/4.4mm headphone outputs, but also adds 6.35mm output, RCA coaxial port, USB3.0 and USB2.0 ports.

It's pity that it is not compatible with the streaming provider I use (Amazon and Qobuz) .. like Poweramp too (poweramp needs the device to be rooted)..
The only way with Qobuz are UAPP or Bubbleupnp+Neutron..
with amazon HD there is no issue.

Thanks, I know, I used to use it on my mobile phone but I prefer to have a PEQ I can adjust myself - because I change it not for the HP but also for the recording.

I got some news from Fiio.eu ..
They confirmed me by mail, the M17 is on the way to Europe, and it should probably be delivered via DHL end of next week to customers.
They don't think other countries in Europe received the M17 at this stage too.

Now I am impatient to receive m17, I have great expectation that it will move properly my DCA Stealth and HEDDphone One even on batteries in Headphones Hi gain Mode. It should also be very near my Monolith THX887 with the external power 12V3A supply.

I think if it's the case, I will try to buy the M17 station for my office too.

It's very good that there is a dedicated USB-C power beside the USB-C Host, as, on the way, It will be easier to drive a WD 4Tb SSD without the need of a Powerbank with an integrated USB Hub (I actually use Zendure X5 with the Kann Alpha or my Smartphone, but it's become rather hot after a few hours)

I also ordered a FH9 from fiio.eu - which should also arrive beginning of December. That will be the second IEM I will own. I'm pretty excited!

Did FiiO ever say that the M17 would work ask a desktop dac/amp on Linux? I know the m15 doesn't and if the m17 did that would solve a few problems for me haha.
Yup, that is why I mainly lost interest in M15. I tried to do some debuggingetc. and in the end lost interest. I was using LDAC / BT connection. Third option with M17 is the coax input.

I will test it and let you know as soon as I receive it.

I agree with most of that.
A small display (as shown) it’s useful to know what the Amp is doing.
Streaming services can be run via BT but USB cable is essential for HI-RES (as with thE Q5S).
If the phone is the controlling unit, SD card slot for the Amp is redundant.
Optical out is also in my wish list.
There is a large group of Mojo/Poly and Hugo2/2go users that are already using sdcard method, so there is already a user base for that. Having an sdcard would be an attraction for them. I don't know what @JamesFiiO thinks but I find it a valuable option. Also having a small screen, as you mentioned would make it possible to navigate in the sdcard. I personally would be OK without it, though.

We are not going to make similar products like Mojo+Poly 。
