Good evening,
I have this weird behavior from my M17 that I don’t think should be normal.
If I have the DC charger connected with the DC/Bat switch set to DC, whenever I connect a USB C to the USB 3.0 port, be it an external USB hub to have more ports and ethernet, an external memory, a hardrive or anything other than a fast charger, the DC input gets overriden and the battery starts to drain. The ultra high gain mode is still active so the DC input it’s still recognized just not used anymore apparently. It doesn’t matter if the option to disable the battery charge is on or off, the battery still gets drained. If the option was on, the battery will start drainning, if the option was off and the battery was charging via DC, as soon as the USB C 3.0 gets plugged the battery will stop charging and start discharging. The only way to avoid this is to connect to the USB C 2.0 port, which is less than convenient since I loose transmission speed for my LAN from 1Gbps to 250Mbps, or if I connected a USB hub, to connect a fast charger to the hub.
I know that the USB 3.0 gets priority over the DC input when a Fast charge input is derected, but this is not the case. If I connect a Fast charger to the USB 3.0 it works as it should taking over the DC input and starts the fast charge (which in my opinion should not have been designed like this, the DC should always have priority over the USB C 3.0, the switching should be a configurable option).
But it makes no sense to take over the DC input every time anything is connected to that port, even if it’s not a fast charging thing.
Is everyone else having this issue or is it just me?
Regards.
