The store that I indicated in my first post makes international shipments to countries of the European Union.

Which goes back to my original point - the 1,440 price does not apply to everyone, because as so many Americans are often (rightfully) reminded, people live elsewhere too - so too do many people live outside the EU.

It is definitely noteworthy, but a technical yet important distinction is that the M17's "new EU retail price" is 1,440 - but not for everyone else.

I do very much appreciate though that you have subsequently revised your remarks to recognize the geographical limitations of the "new retail price" as distributor-based.

I can say in italy it's 1790, just a quick look at amazon.it.
Street price seems the same.
I guess in spain, they're eating lots of their margin on sell to sell them so cheap, but that's up to the single shop selling it. I surely hope it leaks over here too, would be quite a wonderful thing!

Sure - but by the sounds of what @dandon was saying, anyone in the EU could order from the reseller he/she referred to, and have it shipped there. It might be worthwhile to folks in Italy to do just that, for the money saved.

Yeah but I usually prefer to buy from the local reseller (i can literally go buy it face to face) because of the aftermarket support. But maybe if the stores are reliable, i could just do that

My question was why in my country the retail price has dropped by 30% to €1,440 and if that has to do with the profit margins of the stores.

Fiio has replied that these prices are set by the distributor and it seems that the retail price is still 1799.

Therefore, question answered, it is the huge profit margins of the stores that allow the retail price to drop by 30%.

That is all.

To be honesty, there are not huge profit margins if you compare our products to other brands. there are lots of reason when the price is drop in business, for example, high stock or exchange rate.......

Not to mention spain is dealing with energy prices with lots of tax deductions, this means they probably can deduct VAT thus giving the client a discount that is the same amount of the vat (meaning overall 18% deduction, thus 1439 euros). I think FiiO has a very very good pricing policy, making top tier audio gear without silly overcharging like some other brands.

So, today I decided to purchase "Neutron" player for the first time in my life ...and what can I say: some of my albums became sounding really better than when listening through the FiiO player app.
Feels like there appeared more resolution and details, and the sound became more "natural/organic" and less "digital" - especially in vocals, with less sibilance and less fatigue when listening for long sessions...

Feels like there appeared more resolution and details, and the sound became more "natural/organic" and less "digital" - especially in vocals, with less sibilance and less fatigue when listening for long sessions...

Neutron is one of the best music players for offline playback and the best when it comes to PEQ.
The one feature I like best is the ability to search with in the playlist and now playing list.

Unfortunately ... dlna remote, dlna renderer, Qobuz/Tidal streaming features are really unstable or non existant compared to UAPP and Mconnect.
For playlists you have to convert manually (with notepad) "\" to "/" in the playlist ..

Just edited my response, yes and I meant for offline playback. UAPP is best for bit perfect and streaming. I bought both and use both.

Yes neutron is very optimized and the amazing thing is that the developer is a great guy. I messaged him about the M15 playing DSD128 and he optimized the app so much such an old player could do it. And the M17 can do DSD256 thanks to his optimization.

Hi, I am a new user of M17, when I listen Tidal MASTER track, around 95% tracks are BLUE color of side ambient light, and 5% are PURPLE color. Is the third party app send bit prefect digital audio signal to M17 or I should make some setting? Thanks a lot.
