Hello, I come to thank you. After reading all these pages on the Fiio M17, I went to my dealer to try this M17 player. I couldn't resist, I gave in and also took a Focal Clear MG headset. I changed the fan of the Fiio support by a fan (1x DC Brushless Cooling Fan 5V 0.15A 8010S 80x80x10mm...). It's a bit less powerful, but it's very quiet even at full speed.
In any case, I enjoy this Fiio M17 audiophile player and my Focal headphones.
This kind of forum as sharp does not exist here in France.
Good continuation, and I will continue to read you.

Gerard

About the PL50, It is not a green power so it may hard to get certification or the cost is too high to get one. but we will see if we can makeit happen so you guys can buy it from a local dealer. anyway, you can buy one from our official shop on Aliexpress . here is the link:

Thanks James! I get that. Question... The photo seems to show input voltage of 220-240V. When you select US Plug on the Aliexpress store, does it run off 120v?

@Currawong - do you plan on obtaining a PL50 and reviewing it? I'm curious to see what you think, especially how it compares to using the FX-AUDIO- Petit Tank DC Power Noise Cleaner and Bulk Capacitor Extension Cable and FX-AUDIO- [Accessory Series 005] Petit Susie DC Power Noise Cleaner and Noise Filter like you did in your FiiO M17 review (starting at 22:34).
I'm thinking about it. I do have a DIY 12V linear PSU here, so it might be worth considering. If I had an oscilloscope to measure PSUs and the like with, I'd definitely do more reviews of accessories like this.

I am looking for a more portable dap but with a sound as expansive and dynamic as my fiio m17 that I use daily in a semi-stationary way.

I have an Ibasso DX248 which sounds great, and is very dynamic, but when I go back to the m17, its expansive sound and soundstage always make my head explode with delight.

Does something like this exist?

If/when they put the 4499ex in the M15s. but then again the AMP on the M17 is a monster, so even with a great DAC it's hard to beat.
I tried a DX320 but i own an M15. I A/B tested them with same song, same headphone (Hifiman Ananda) and they sounded pretty much identical to me. And the M17 seem to be another step over that tho i have yet to test it. So....i guess you will need to wait for some wonder DAP!

Thank you for these temperature readings. Is it with or without cooling fan?

These temperatures are measured while using my Focal Clear with gain set to "Over Ear Mode", without dc adaptor and without fan. You can download "Aida64" app and see it yourself :) my Fiio M17 surface feels really hot when I touch it, but internal temperature stays acceptable levels as it shows the app.

If anyone is wondering how hot M17 becomes during Tidal playing after 1 hour, here it is :) AIDA64
@FiiO My SOC runs at 100ºC with Enhanced mode enabled and driving 300Ω HD820 Sennheiser. Everything else has basically about the same numbers as @Ben86 give or take a degree or two. Fan speed at maximum, running Apple Music app only and volume set at 60, Album is the best of The Police DC quality. Run time about an hour. Bluetooth switched off, WiFi connected at 5GHz band. Is this within safe operating temperature, and if so, at what temperature does the high temp pop up comes?

these are the iddling temps after being switched off for 10 minutes with the fan at full speed.
