Continuing last night's rediscovery of Jay Kay's groovy discography.

M17 (Enhanced over-ear headphone mode/DC power) + VE EXT + Eletech Project 8 Plato x Socrates

VE EXT's soundstage and sub bass rumbles scales quite nicely with M17 in EOEH mode. Mids are fuller, while detailed - sounded a bit congested.

Other listening note: Cayin N8ii (M gain, P+ power mode, Tube timbre, AB amp mode) + VE EXT + Eletech P8 Plato x Socrates had the best synergy. Large open mids, holographic soundstage, sub bass rumble, exceptional details and layers

Last night M17 had UM MEST Mk2 BCD drivers working overtime. Best I've heard Mk2 - colorful, energetic, boogietastic with deep layered textural sub bass that just wants to make you shake your groove thang, excellent details, tamed treble, improved mids.

Other listening notes:
- With N8ii, Mk2II + P8 Prudence had larger soundstage, open mids, less sub bass, still enjoyable but not as visceral as M17
- Oddly 3MAX SS (M gain, Ultimate Mode) sounded surprising veiled with this combo, large soundstage, excellent bass but mids scooped out.

Not very good at taking pictures but you get the idea. Who said the M17 wasn't an absolute desktop replacement? I hope no one. Haha. Decided to put the linear power supply behind the Light speed 6400 ISO Conditioner for a bit better power delivery. This in use with my in house DIY power cables and the sound is smooth, authoritative, black background. Loving this little Frankenstein setup here.

Thanks for the help, but it's now past 00:00 and the 15th anniversary ad is there, but not the special M17. (Only 3 units of the original only with EU plug).

My unit today got totally freezed while playing Tidal did not respond to any phisical button, volume wheel or touch screen until I fully restarted system by pushing and holding power button for about 10 seconds, after that the screen started blinking and finally shutted down. After restart everything seems to be working normal. This was the first time when M17 got freeze while playing music. Anyone had the same experience?

Maybe some kind of conflict with the Tidal app?

I dont know bu my sd card refuses to work. It works fine in dx300, but not m17. restarts when I try and use it.

I tested swapping my Micron 512 between DX312 and M17, without any reading issues

Have you tried testing/troubleshooting with other cards to see if it’s the card or the M17 reader.
