Hello Friends.

Yesterday I updated firmware from 0.2 to 0.3 , but after update I am unable to use enhanced headphones mode... Please help
I upgraded with no issues, In fact, if anything, it sounds somewhat better with all my Headphones and IEM’s
Have you flipped the switch from battery to DC?
If so, try shutting down and restart.

Thanks for the latest FW update BUT @FiiO is it possible to open the multifunction button for 3rd party apps? It would be great!
The button of our player is strictly based on Android definition. However, third-party APP would make its own definition while using system buttons. So the button definition of system itself and third-party APP might be conflicted. We couldn't change the button definition of third party APP. Therefore, the play/pause or previous/next track button might not able to work perfectly when using third-party APP (These APPs might work fine on cellphones cause most of the cellphones only have volume button for adjustment and no next/previous track button).

Best regards

DC-Cable Connected.

Volume knob indicator light:
  • Brightness: User defined, 55%
  • Working: Constantly On
  • Charging: Constandly On (can also be set to Off - this setting has no impact on the Volume knob light after the shut down).

After shutting down, the device seams to fully shutdown, as I know it from before (also the Volume knob indicator light is switched off for about 1 second), then the FiiO Icon is shown again on the screen and the volume knob indicator light is illuminated in red with full brightness (as it does, during booting the device), then the screen turns black, the volume Knob indicator knob is turned on, in blue color (my regular dim setting + color); for a second or so the battery symbol is shown in the secreen, then the screen turns to black and the volume indicator light remains permanent on, unless you unplug the DC Cable ...
Dear friend,

We will report to the engineer to check about that as well. But I failed to reproduce the issue.

Charging: Constandly On---If this option is switched to off for volume knob indicator, would you get the same problem? Is the M17 fully charged at that time?

Best regards

Dear FiiO Team,

thanks for investigating on this issue.

… also when setting "Charging" to Off, the volume knob is illuminated constantly after shutdown.

I n the Battery Menu, I have set “Charging Optimization” to 55% (settings unchanged from before the update).

Since the update, the only way to turn off the volume knob light after shut down of the M17 is, to turn it off completely - meaning "working constantly" set to off. But then it is also not illuminatec during regular operation of the M17 ...

Yeah for sure it doesn't deliver more than the spec'ed 3A but that's not the point of upgrading the power unit. Cleaner power for sure with the iPower Elite but also in how it delivers power when called for... this is quite obvious in Enhanced Over ear mode... I mean it's not looking for minute changes it's a big upgrade in my book. I have friends with M17 and we'll do an A/B with two M17 with stock and upgrade power unit and we'll see.

Long time since I haven't listened to that album, thanks for the reminder I love it!
Hi David, sorry for the long time reply but i just bought an Ifi iPower Elite and saw your post. I did loooong A/B switch with stock PU (listening with Focal Clear MG + balanced 4.4 Meze cable) and i'm really worried because i can't heard any significant difference. You said that you heard a real difference when you upgrade your ifi PU stock cable with ifi supernova, right? But before that, did you notice any enhancement in sound when you just switch from stock PU to ifi PU (without supernova)? Higher or smaller than when you switch from stock cable of ifi iPower elite to ifi supernova cable on ifi iPower elite?
Complicated :)

Thx

David could not hear the M17 amps powering up and then powering off after 27 seconds of iddling. I wouldn’t trust him to hear a child on a pogo stick right beside him, much less the minute differences (if any) an iFi PU would make.
Sadly, there’s a lot of mythology going on in the audiophile community about power units and cables with amazing magical game changing powers. But, like yours, my experience when testing those claims has been one of disappointment… You’ll sooner find an unicorn!
