2 questions.

1) can the battery be replaced on this thing if it dies/shortens it’a charge over time?

2) will putting this device in USB DAC mode over charge the battery or will it forgo the battery in this mode?

Hi,

1. Yes. You could contact us if you would liket to change the battery.

2. The M15 will still be charged when over-ear headphone mode is off. When over-ear headphone mode is on, the battery and usb power apply are both powering the device in USB DAC mode.

Best regards

I am not sure if this was shared before, but it is the first time I see this nice review of M15.

https://blog.son-video.com/en/2020/03/review-fiio-m15/
Cayin N8: we had the same feeling of entering another realm when listening to the Cayin N8. These two Chinese DAPs are unparalleled when it comes to bringing music to life. The M15 equals the N8 in terms of magnitude, spatialization and details. The same goes for its amplification, which allows the most demanding headphones to reach their full potential by making the most of their dynamic qualities. Naturally, we didn’t experience the warmth of the tubes with the FiiO. For now, the Cayin N8 is unique in this regard. Despite this, rarely have we enjoyed a DAP as much as the M15.

:D

Some reviewers have been saying the M15 is Bluetooth 5.0 but on fiio's website.
Anyone confirm?

Got the TPU case and Triton Audio cable for my EE Wraith + Hi Res King Crimson. Amazing combo!

TPU case is this one on eBay

Interesting that the brand is Fat Bear. Fits perfectly but buttons still remain sensitive but at least you can easily see where the buttons are when lifting off the table and grab from the bottom. In hand, it does make the M15 feel a little larger and the volume wheel is a mm or 2 shorter due to the TPU thickness. Definitely offers up some serious protection. I thought I would use this until the leather case was available, but I'm pretty happy with the TPU case so going to stick with it.

I liked the quote. I also like this quote:
"In our opinion, the FiiO M15 is the best DAP in its price range and you would have to invest a lot more to find a better model."

However, comparing the M15 and the N8 is the only example provided! I've heard the N8 and I really like it. But the N8 has a tube amp so the comparison is like apples to oranges. I guess I need to follow my own advice and buy the M15 so I can decide for myself.

According to Qualcomm, the BT SOC inside the M15 is 5.0 hardware with full backwards compatibility with 4.2 spec:

https://www.qualcomm.com/products/csr8675

Also the Fiio Q5s spec says 5.0 for the same Qualcomm chip so I can't imagine that the newer M15 wouldn't also have 5.0.

Have tested BT for the first time on my PC, watching a movie. Audio and video 100% in sync, great experience.

Have never imagined that I would ever watch a movie with the sound coming from an LCD-i4! Man, what a ***** sound :D

Just if my 150€ 5.1 PC speakers sounded half this good...

Non sono sicuro che questo sia stato condiviso prima, ma è la prima volta che vedo questa bella recensione di M15.
