Fiio M11 Pro $600 is coming - Will you Purchase it ?

I felt the treble performed a bit better (more even) with the treble filters, although the FH7 lose some of their warmth. It was easier to my treble-sensitive ears than the balanced or bass filters.

Also, just received the M11 Pro review unit. Still wrapped, but I will try to share some early impressions next week.

I'm looking forward to your review! :)

I want to buy a Dap, I can buy a Fiio x7 gen. II, or to buy a M11 Pro? Strictly speaking, is the M11 Pro better than the x7 II? Fiio x7 II I listened and liked it but I didn't listen to the M11 or M11 Pro.
I finally bought the M11 Pro. The Fiio X7 II would have been cheaper, but with an additional module i would have reached that amount. The problem is that i receive M11 Pro it in december,in Romania the importer no longer has M11 Pro in stock....
If i do not like it i return it and take X7 II.
By the way,it seems that Fiio is trying to get easy to the hi-end area of the DAPs.Fiio M11 is the equivalent of X5 III at 500$,M11 Pro is the equivalent of X7 II at 700$,and future M15 / M15 Pro will probably be a 1000$ / +1000$.

Very new to the headphone game here.

Just bought some Hifiman 400i’s which I’m quite happy with.

Is there any reason to justify the M11 Pro over the M11 with the 400i’s? Or is it essentially overkill to spend 4 times what I spent on the headphones on a DAP, and will an M11 deliver me 95%-plus of the sound?

I have owned he400i and I own m11 (not pro) and personally I think it might not be a great pairing, both lean towards a brighter sig and I think together it might be a little too much , if I were looking to buy a dap for the 400i i would look for something a bit more warmer with a weightier sound , I have heard the shanling m6 Is a bit more musical and maybe fit the bill better.
This is all down to tastes though others may disagree.

What do you pair it with now?

I personally find the M11 Pro to work very well with headphones that tend to be a bit bright or aggressive. To my ears, the M11 Pro is a bit soft around the edges, with slightly less attack or edge enhancement vs something like the DX220. It's also a bit more full and a smidge on the warm side of the fence. It always sounds natural to me, and works great with something like my AP2000Ti, which is both bright and aggressive :)

Not heard the pro and should of added that in my post and the equation, from what little is out there on it in description it may take that edge off that is in the m11....but again personal tastes and I do feel both m11 and he400i have that clinical bite so to speak.
I should also add that both he400i and m11 are very good, loved my he400i and had them for many years.

Relatively speaking - nothing. Just bought the 400i and have no high-end source, so currently just listening to Tidal on a Macbook Pro, and considering the M11 as the first purchase...

Thanks for the info, might have to try and hunt out an M11 to give it a listen with them first based on this advice - much appreciated. Even without a decent source I can see what you say about the clinical bite to the 400i's.

Can someone with access to both m11 and m11 pro comment on the audible hiss levels with sensitive iems like andro, se846 etc? Is it noticeably better?

I don’t have M11, but M11 Pro does have some hiss with Zeus. It’s not objectionable to me, though, and in fact I love the pairing.

It isn’t as quiet as my DX220 or N6ii, though, for instance. But the difference isn’t vast.

I am interested to hear others’ experience with M11 vs M11 Pro.

Thanks for replying. I'm actually currently undecided between m11 pro, dx220 and second hand sp1000, so this info is useful.

You have HK in your user name , couldnt you just demo everything ? What sort of music you usually listen to?

Happy to help.

I don’t think I’d make hiss a differentiator between M11 pro and DX220. To me, tonality and synergy would be the most important thing.

I hear M11 Pro as being warmer, with a bit softer presentation on the organic side of things (vs DX220). DX220 is more detailed, lighter on its feet, with a pretty, holographic soundstage.

I like both with different IEMs/Headphones, or even different moods. For instance, I just got TFZ S2 Pro and No 3. I prefer S2 Pro with M11 Pro, and No 3 with DX220. Similarly, my A-T AP2000Ti sound better on M11 Pro vs DX220 (a bit light in body) and N6ii (too aggressive). I like Zeus with all 3 DAPs, and would choose more based upon genre (jazz: M11 Pro, classical: DX221).

Honestly, I expected M11 Pro to sound a bit lean (like DX221) due to the THX AAA, but I find that’s not the case at all...

Hope that helps, a little.

I can, but the shops are usually too noisy to hear hiss. I've sold daps/sources after liking them in the shop and then hearing hiss in my usual, quiet listening environment. (M11, oppo HA2). I'm genuinely allergic to it.

What sort of music you usually listen to?
All sorts. But I appreciate warmer signatures, 3D soundstage and bass needs to be well present but tight.
