Just out of curiosity, can anyone clarify what prevents consideration of larger internal memory.

Is it generally a cost consideration or are there technical limitations?
It is easy to believe that ”bigger is better” but apart from price and power requirements is is also important to recognise that memory gets cheaper with time.

Hence, if I had to decide on the amount of memory I expect to need in a DAP that I hope to use for a number of years then I would have to buy an expensive device with a significant amount of memory. But with SD cards I get the opportunity to delay the purchase until it is really needed. So instead of paying X for, say, 128GB built in today, I pay perhaps X/4 for an 128GB SD card (for a totalof 160 GB or so) and then in all likelihood I will be able to buy a 1TB card some time next year for the remaining 3/4 X.

This is also why having two SD slots is so convenient, as that will make it trivial to migrate to higher density cards by ditching the lowest density card of the two smaller cards (which will be mostly worthless by then).

To me it is much better to get the device now, at a great price, and delay as much of the cost as possible until later.

Is this the new one where the whole motherboard (DAC and amp) are replaceable?
Yes it is. I am also thinking the price is at least double that of the M11.

Hi dude
My thoughts on these three are the following : M11 is the best of both. While X5 III has a really good and detailled sound, the strenghts for the R6 was on smooth android experience and a fun, warmer sound. So M11 got a well balanced and quality sound, with a touch of warm on low-mids and a really good lows/bass handling. That being said, the overall sound definition/quality jump on M11 keeps tight as both R6 and X5 was already really good units.
Thanks for the insight.

So, If I understand correctly, you rate M11 higher than X5iii and R6? That's quite an achievement if that's the case.

I pre-ordered an M11 yesterday from advancedmp3players - real bargain working out £363 including topcashback. I currently have an AK70 mk2, but it is starting to feel dated software wise with no firmware support, offline Tidal and only aptX HD bluetooth . I do like however its build quality and sound, althought I am increasingly using it just as a transport with a Hugo2. I am concerned whether the M11 will feel a downgrade to this in terms of finish and sound - does anyone here have an opinion?
How did you get that discount?
I'm only able to see 10% discount for over 250 purchases and a 3.2% cashback rate.

For me, yes. There is no compromize on the unit. I definitly got my reference mid range DAP here, best experience so far.

How does the Z7M2 pair up with the M11? I don't have an M11 but I'm considering getting a pair for my ZX300. Read your signature and thought I'd ask.

It was 15% for Easter weekend and 6.4% on TopCashback - Quidco is only 3.2%

i heard middel - end of may
any word on when the M11 will be available in the german FiiO Shop?

please dont do that .....
We had decided not to remove the TF2 from M11, but for the future model we will remove the TF2 and may add the build in memory size to 64g or 128g.

I see. I would probably got that deal too if it was still available.
You're right. Quidco is 3.2. I'm using Quidco mainly as from experience I find Topcashback is unreliable.
Yes. I agree about Quidco, but I always check TopCashback just in case.

Going to be testing MezeAudio Rai Penta’s with 4.4mm factory upgrade cable next week. And excited to see how m11 pairs together. I should mention this will be to test the 4.4mm
i've not had a chance to do so yet.

I just got a M11 from Shenzhen Hongze Technology. Order placed on 4/23/19... Let’s see how fast I get it, I am in the US.
Wonder if this is part of the initial “testing batch” or the production one.
We will see!
