I'm seriously considering the M11 as an upgrade from my X5ii. I would use the 3.5mm jack almost exclusively and want to know whether there is a faster way to switch between LO, DO and HO than going through the Settings menu? I use one DAP as my source everywhere in life (multiple home hi-fi systems, headphones portable, car) and it has been up to now really convenient to have a separate HO jack. I'm concerned that this new multi jack will be too cumbersome for my needs.

Sorry for the basic question but I can't find any discussion about this. (which probably answers my question, I'm afraid)

The top pull down menu has the option to switch between output modes. Takes less than a second to access!

That's fantastic! Thanks for the info.

But one follow up: I'm guessing I'm going to prefer the simplicity of the FiiO pure music mode. Is this pulldown menu also available in this mode?

(sorry, again the most modern player I've used is the X5ii)

I'll add that at this point I'm pretty convinced that I'd prefer this model over the Pro, all things considered. The very subtle differences in performance don't seem worth the single card slot and the fact that it tends to run kinda hot (from what I've read at least). Plus the price difference. Anyone care to disagree?

Oh the Pro is worth it! I had the M11 and while that's very good indeed, the Pro is next level. I didn't notice for it running hot at all. Money well spent especially if you have sensitive low impedance IEMs.

Yes, the pull down menu is still accessible so you can access Bluetooth and output settings.

A firmware patch to enable Google Play store in M11/M11PRO/M15 based on the SoC used--Samsung 7872

Download link: http://fiio-file.fiio.net/Google_Play_Update.zip

How to update: Copy the firmware package file to the internal memory or micro SD card; Open "Technical Support" app on the M11/M11PRO/M15->enter the "Firmware Update" menu->select the firmware package file to upgrade.

Note: The Google Play partial library will prompt for updates after connecting to the Wifi for the first time. Restart it so that you could use it normally.

What can be done if receiving 'the device is not certified' in Google Play?

Currently, Google has closed the channel of GMS certification for Android 7.0 devices. So you will be prompted that the device is not certified. You can register your device by following the steps below:
(The deivce without certification could use Google Play normally still, but some apps with high security requirements could not be searched. )

1. Install the DeviceID.apk

2. Click it to get the 'Google Service Framework' and then copy it

3. Go to the following website and fill in the ID copied from step 2
https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/

If you have any questions or advices, please post in this thread or send an email to support@fiio.com

Best regards

Thanks a lot.
Is it possible to integrate the patch into original FiiO's firmware?
Does it work with the M6 and M9?

We will like to see what will happen first and them decide whether we should add it into the original firmware. and it is not work with M6/M9.

My opinion:
Having the choice is the best way to go. Many many users do not need Google Play Services and appreciate a Google free DAP with long battery life.
For me the only temptaton for GPS is the possibility to add UAPP ... But I'll stay with the FiiO App for the moment, I'm really happy with M11 as it is ...

Thanks, that's what many were asking for.

Curious, if UAPP recognises the M11 DAC ...

No, he doesn't recognize it, UAPP only reproduces the audio trough Android System on the M11 (all resampled to 44.1khz).
The M11 PRO does, because it has a different DAC chip (AK4497EQ instead of AK4493, the one that comes in the M11).
I already made it clear in my previous post when a user shared the patch from a Russian forum.
Please, if someone has access to the UAPP app developer forum (http://www.extreamsd.com/forum/index.php), open a new thread and request that they add support to the AK4493 DAC, not to mention M11.
