Hi,

Today I plugged in my new K7 but it's not changing colour with different file resolutions. Just blue.

I'm on Windows 10
Using MusicBee - Output WASAPI (shared)

I installed the Fiio driver from https://forum.fiio.com/note/showNoteContent.do?id=202105191527366657910&tid=17

I have an error message: "Lisk Audio USB Audio Device Control Panel: The driver DLL required to access the device is missing." And so the Fiio Control Panel will not run/open.

In Device Manager the Other Devices has "GuangZhuo Fiio Electronics Co" but has a yellow warning triangle.

Any help appreciated.

Also, to avoid Windows resampling the digital sound output to a fixed frequency, try selecting WASAPI Exclusive as your output device from MusicBee, Foobar or the player you like to use. Then, the volume knob light would change its colour following the file’s sampling frequency.

Bingo!! Thanks so much, that driver worked (it uninstalled the 5.50 and put 5.30 on instead) and with no errors. Plus I changed from WASAPI to ASIO.

Hi-res stuff changing to yellow now. I probably can't hear the difference with my old ears, but it's still a placebo if nothing else...

I'm also using ASIO, as well as WASAPI Exclusive, with my Win 11 PC and the Fiio K5 Pro. Both audio protocols don't resample and let the Fiio unit works its (colourful) magic.

I think the figures are back to front (single ended has more power than balanced from the previous figures stated)

Yep - @FiiO… as @Duncan said, you appear to have posted SE values for BAL, and BAL values for SE, based upon this:

6.35mm = SE
4.4mm = BAL

…yet you had the 6.35mm values as more powerful than the 4.4mm values. Whoops!

It is the data in 16Ω instead.

In 32Ω, the data is different:
6.35: L+R≥1220mW+1220mW（32Ω /THD+N＜1%)
4.4: L+R≥2000mW+2000mW（32Ω /THD+N＜1%)

no no no, i think you're missing the point - the previous numbers you listed had SE and BAL values flipped i believe - there is no chance single-ended 6.35mm has 1700mw power while 4.4mm bal has 930

a balanced output will typically have about a 2x more power, as + and - are amplified. you have the opposite in your answer, SE output is much more powerful than balanced

The K7 Red was launched months ago and until today it has not been put up for sale, everything is with many months delay, does anyone know the reason for this?
