FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread

So, I have the FH19 for a few days now. But currently I have a love and hate relationship with it...
With most electronic music it has too much bass for me, and I'm using the treble filter lol, so I won't even try the other filters.
On the other hand it is very euphoric and fun to listen to, but in my opinion this is not an upgrade over the FH9 which is still my favorite IEM of all time. Maybe my expectations were too high :(

My honeymoon is still going strong with the FH19, but boys... It is always a pleasure to go back to the FH9. The firstborn has a WOW factor that I am yet to hear with the youngest.
I'm still trying to get hold of mine.

Yeah. I had to find my own way dealing with the newcomer too. In my case, there is a volume ceiling I simply do not dare to cross with the FH19. With the FH9, on the other hand, it is much more tempting to increase the volume. Hearing loss is the limit. :man_dancing:

Waiting on the @DaveStarWalker secret sauce recipe for the FH19s before emptying my wallet.... again
Lol,

I have quickly* auditioned the fh19's (thanks to my friend @lafeuill 👍)...

But... Very quickly* 😅

I would say a more warm and bassy, and laid back version (high registers : less bite) of the FH9's 😉. The medium register is more smooth and organic than the predecessor too. Tuning less balanced (bass much more present). Green filters on.

But at the end, a mixed bag for me (too warm, big bass - lack of balance ? - and... a too "inoffensive" or safe general tuning for my tastes ?) 🤔

Maybe, I think the very simple tweak with the "rubber seals" off the cannulas must work as well (better definition)... 😀

But... It was a very quick listening session*.... So, to be continued. 🧐

* Well... Because... At the contrary with the fh9’s... I didn't have a "love at first sight effect"... 😶‍🌫️

Treble "overexcited" and "let the green filters alone" or something ? 🤔

Well... 😅

Strange but... Well, all feelings are allowed 😋

If the treble filter would have a slightly more tamed upper mids and treble, it would actually be pretty good

If anyone is using Wavelet (AutoEQ), here is an AutoEQ File for the Treble filter (in the attachments)

But keep in mind that this is AutoEQ based on coupler conducted measurement, the result is a bit unpredictable^^ feel free to report back the result but don't expect it to sound actually flat/accurate just due to EQ (it might work though) =)

Hi @FiiO,

I was browsing your AliExpress store earlier today and noticed a "FH5S 2024" model. Care to explain what has changed?

The only thing I noticed was the 2.5mm connector being dropped?

Looks like this video is no longer valid then?

Thanks!

Dear friend,
Hi, yes, the only difference is the accessories.
The 2.5mm plug is not included.

Best regards

A question: for a person with small ears in size and depth (tips size S) the FH19 are big, uncomfortable...Thanks
