I still can't get the FiiO FH19. It's been hard to buy in the UK since last summer when it was released.

Them FH19 arrived I'm really enjoying the green filter paired with my Onix XM5 Overture they sound phenomenal for the money I paid in the AliX sale they are an bargain. I will say it was an absolute mission to get them out of the awful plastic tray. I guess foam must be expensive 20250324_105255.jpg

Im really pleased they sound different to the FH9 which I also love they won't be retired anytime soon.
I second your comment about the plastic tray. Huge pain in the b*tt to remove the inears from it.

Good thing is that they keep being my top dog even after trading punches with some of nowadays crème de la crème. This weekend I put them up against:

VE EXT II
FIIO FA19
EE RAVEN + Lavri Grand v2
HERCULES AUDIO MOSES
NOBLE SULTAN
LIME EARS MARIS
CA ASTROLITH
CA BONNEVILLE
CA CLARA
NA CAMELOT
NA DURANDAL
UM AMBER PEARL + PW 1950

... using my DX320 + AMP12EXN-S with all the above vs FH19 (with Dunu Hulk Pro cable) on DX300 + AMP12EXN.

Volume level matched, with 10 to 30 minutes tests by IEM using selected tracks, none of the above felt really better to me.

There's of course limits to this exercise, but for my taste, as a higher volume listener than most of my comrades, I felt absolutely no downgrade switching back to the 19. Every time.

Bass is explosive when the mix is punchy, there's no bleed at all in the low mids, which is capital for me. Mids and treble are correct tonally, and charged with stimulating energy and texture.

It's been 8 months now and I still don't feel the need to EQ them, whatever genre I'm listening to. Can't say that for all the other iems in my signature.

Otic, Premium Sound. Both tell me I have to pre-order and then wait until they are produced and delivered to the UK. They say it's been that way for awhile.

@buckster666 Unfortunately, I've not had good experience with Hifonix so I don't want to use them again.

To be fair. If you order an ""real"" IEM from an professional maker (FitEar, Vision Ears, Ultimate Ears and so on), it can take up to 3 months for your order to be fulfilled (especially as most of them are hand-made).

If you really want an FH19, i would just pre-order it and wait. I know in these modern times, nobody wants to wait (especially not me), but at this price point, you'll probably keep it for a few years, so it wlll be worth it.

I know this is a FiiO thread, and didn't want to mention anything from other companies here, but if someone is looking for a real successor for the FH9 I think I have found it. It is the Softears Volume S. Very similar tuning as FH9 but even better in almost every aspect (except perceived stage size). FH19 is good euphoric IEM, but sadly didn't do it for me.

Two other examples where the FH19 is simply sublime with guitar centric tracks:

I am not a big fan of covers but this one came out really good:

PS.: Tracks above are at different levels, so volume adjustment may be necessary for better enjoyment.
