You can try putting small stripe of tape on one housing. However the shape of the FA1 is good enough to see which is left and right.

Did anyone try some BT cable with FA1? They like to hiss and benchmark the source quality. I bear a small hiss using them with Xduoo X3, but the synergy is super.

I've been using mine at night with an rc-bt. No hiss with M11. They're a fantastic little set and I don't even notice them while I'm trying to fall asleep.

Cool, but what about when you have the cables disconnected, is there any indication on the IEMs directly?
Dear friend,

Oh yes, there is not L or R mark in the headphone unit. But you would be able to check the left and right when connecting to the headphone cable.

Best regards

Got my FA1 in today. Like how it sounds so far. From what I can see it appears that the red plugs bring out the bass more than the clear ones. Very clear, detail is very good there is no harshness which makes it great for jazz and other brass heavy music. Sound stage is small as you would expect from an IEM especially compared to my DT990s but they are opposites in that regard. That said there is clear separation and you do not get a sense that the music is too close. They are easily driven from a phone, my Moto X pure has no issue driving them and volume is great even at 50%. I think 100% would be way to loud. I can even easily play classical music at 65-75% and that is loud.

Excited to see how the sound settles after burn in.

BA drivers do not burn in like dynamic drivers so basically you get final sound "out of the box", maybe ears and a brain slightly tune to signature and that's all.

Oh, good to know!

Been listening to my FA1's all week, I would definitely call them neutral bright. It has high end extension that doesn't sound artificial that many of my other <$150 IEMs lack. Definitely closer to HD650 highs that I have been looking for in an IEM (not identical because there is still some tuning differences). Two things that really stick out me that may or may not have been mentioned.

1) These things sound like you are sitting in the front row, very wide soundstage, spacious sound but it does make you feel very close.
2) I don't think I need to mention again they are sub-bass light, but some of the early reviews that posted graphs led me to believe there was a midbass hump. While I do not have an IEC measurment rig I cannot hear this hump with sine wave generators, and I also do not measure it. It is very much Ety flat from mid to bass (ok 1.5db lift at ~125Hz from 1Khz) so I am a bit confused. Ignore my 8khz, just an artificial artifact from using a non-IEC coupler.

FA1

I actually disagree a bit on the soundstage front. They sound fairly open, but I can definitely tell I'm listening to a recording. When I move to something like the FH5 or Kanas Pro, the soundstage difference is instantly apparent. I don't want that to deter people, because I do really feel like these are a fantastic value for the money. The highs are great and while there isn't any real sub-bass, the bass that is there is acceptable.

IMO due to slightly smoothed highs there is some depth in soundstage. It's nice.
What I like in FA1 is that the subbass is present. In Audeo or MEE P1 i felt like the bass rolloff comes fast and nothing hearable going lower. With FA1 I can hear small rumble listening to some Pendulum or similar. I really like the tuning.

Really love the highs on the FA1, anyone that owns one can you recommend a similar sounding IEM that has more low end extension? It doesn't need to be V shaped but just more extension?

Remember that the magical feeling about the fa1 depends on the lack of big subbass that always force the tuning in a brighter way. Said that, maybe a good ciem will do the job

Some chifi option:
Audiosense t180. Single BA vented knowles driver.
kbear f1. Also single BA.
both should have more bass than FA1. Maybe alsoaless treble.

I've had my FA-1 since release and have loved every bit of them, but they arrived with a very loose mmcx port on the left earphone which is becoming a very big problem (earphone falling while walking etc.). Does fiio offer warranty on purchases made through their official Aliexpress store?
