Hi all.

Ive been asked by a friend to reccomend him some good cans. His initial choice were the Dre Beats, but I said save yourself some ££ and get some Beyer DT770's.

His taste lies with Rap, D&B etc.

He listens to music through an iBoard or whatever it is, and an mp3 player. The only 32ohm 770's i can seem to find are the 2010 editions, ive never heard these myself, and ive heard they are not as good as a normal pair of 770's.

What I need to know is, would a FiiO E5 be sufficient to power a set of 250ohm cans. At £17 I cant imagine these being very good, but the reviews and threads on here seem to suggest otherwise. And will it ruin the sound atall?

Can anyone confirm if the E5 would provide sufficient power to a set of Dt770 Pros (250 ohm). I have a set of AKG 701's and at 64ohm, ipods, a computer audio port and even cd players wont power them very well.

Im very tempted to buy one of these myself.

Thanks. :)

WOuld it be better to spend the extra and get the E7?

Would this be compatable with the IPad?

Im actually now more interested in the E7. It says max impedance is 300Ohm.

I assume this will be enough to power the 250ohm Dt770 Pro. Ideally higher than comfortable listening level.

I also need to know if an ipod cable is required for the iPad.

OK Great stuff. Had a look. Would be more appropriate and cheaper.

Defo wont have any issue powering 250ohm, especially from an iPad or Laptop?

Cheers.
