Quoting my earlier post, my S23+ just updated to Android 14 which can now allow bitperfect on other apps than UAPP.
Spotify sounds better via my BTR7 over USB now. Before it would upscale as per Android but now show 48/32 on the BTR7. Seems clearer/cleaner. Sure it showed something like 384/32 before.
PS If I just plug in via USB to Android it defaults to 384/32 for system sounds. Play a track via Spotify and changes to 48/32.
Saying that, isn't Spotify at 44.1/16? Maybe the App itself outputs to DACs at 48?
Is there anything special to be done to enable bit perfect? I am trying out Apple Musoc and I am seeing 48KHz, regardless of reported track stats…. (I have an S22+ that has already moved to Android 14)
Is there a specific track you would suggest I can use to test this?
Thanks, I have UAPP, I do not have a Qobuz subscription currently, I just asked about Apps that can directly play bit-perfect.
For what it's worth, I've just ended my chat with Amazon Customer Service and they told me they are in the process of implementing bit-perfect playback for Android 14, it will be out in 3 - 4 weeks. I am not sure how reliable this information is, and sorry, I couldn't manage to screenshot.
Just tried that the other day - works surprisingly well unlike their Tidal intergration, which won't show any of my Tidal music in their app. Overall though, seems UAPP has really improved recently and working well with my Mojo 2.

Other than connect my BTR7 via USB to the S23+ then no. Is your S22+ on a beta or official release version of Android 14? Mine was official over air update.

That would be great, but PC always supported it and they didn't bother to implement it for all these years. So, call my skeptical, but I really doubt they'll move a finger.
After 15 years in this hobby I 100% know what bit-perfect is.
I'm not saying its bit-perfect yet like it is in UAPP but its clearly jumping between using 48/32 or 192/32 dependent on detected track (in Apple Music).
Incidentally, on my Sony A307 I can manually chose for the Android subsystem and third party apps to be at 48 or 192 but needs an on/off cycle to switch. My S23+ with Apple Music is jumping from 48 or 192 and it didn't do that with Android 13.
my BTR7 connected to the huawei M6 tablet and i would notice it would show the bitrate and sampling rate but every time a song changed it would change too, when running bit perfect, the dac changes bitrate depending on the source material.
forgot to mention, my Phone connects at APTX adative to the BTR7 and sometimes when i change to ldac the audio becomes choppy and i have to jump codecs a couple of more times until it works correctly.
I just realised if you hold on a point in the PEQ editor you can customise the frequency, Q value etc.
Has anyone had luck changing the frequency value? When I use the app after editing one I go back and it looks like it’s ignored the changed frequency value. Not sure if it’s me or that the app is just missing that functionality to work properly?

…sorry for the massive screenshot, I was doing this on my iPad.
Here’s the custom PEQ I set for my Daily driver IEMs back in September, 7kHz isn’t the default frequency for that slider, I believe it’s 6kHz.
