Bought an AM3D from a Headfi member. I really like what I hear, with my planar's and IEM's. I hot swapped back and forth between the AM3B and AM3D, which took less then 10 seconds. The sound difference is immediately noticeable.

How did you level match the volume? Even small volume differences can shift our perception significantly.

Enjoying the Klipsch HP-3 through the 3.5mm input. Very nice, lots of power on low gain.

I know FiiO wrote it somewhere but can't remember where. I think (but not 100 % sure) that 4.4 is less than 1,5 ohm and SE less than that. I 100% sure its less than AM3b. AM3b is 3 ohm in 4.4, a bit too high!

That sounds about right. I had read the specs early on somewhere but I can't remember exactly where.

I wonder if @FiiO has a THX K-series desktop dock/amp with a 4-pin >1ohm headphone output planned down the line. I love the K5 so a K7 would be killer. I'm really not a fan of buying from monoprice or massdrop and Fiio is usually responsible for making that possible on a reasonable budget. Fingers crossed.

Does anybody know the output impedance on the 4.4mm? I tried to find the info on the AM3C but couldn't.
Hopefully less than the 3 ohms on the AM3B for use with Andromedas.

Shipping to my work place was a dum decision, this time. ^^

Matching tests will be with X7II + VE8, EM10, HA-FW01, XBA-Z5, IMR R1 & HD660S.

Too bad. Headphonebar in Vancouver Canada has stock, that is where I purchased mine. For $10 shipping I received it in three days. It was $199 Canadian, so US would have been significantly less. Nice people at Headphonebar.

Yeah, I got mine in about a week from Hong Kong, super fast for sure.

All of my IEMs sound better with the AM3D. This is a very good amplifier. I wonder if some may have had overblown expectations when they gave it their first listen. It settles in very well.
