A couple additions to the list.

6SN7

RCA 5692 Red Base; you mentioned RCA but not the 5692 version.
Melz 1578

12AU7- must purchase 6SN7 to 12AU7 adapter

Telefunken G73r
1950s-1960s era Mullard ECC82
Brimar CV4003
Mullard CV4003-rare and hard to find

Combinations

A lot of users prefer Elrog ER, MO, TM with Melz 1578 drivers
WE300B with Brimar CV1988 drivers
WE300B with Melz 1578 drivers
WE300B with RCA 5692 red base drivers
WE300B with Telefunken G73r drivers

I personally like Sophia Electric 300B with Telefunken G73r, 1960s Mullard ECC82, Brimar CV4003, Brimar CV1988, and RCA 5692 red base drivers.
Thank you - this is really helpful!

Now I need to hunt for the Melz 1578.

Quick Look on eBay shows some for a couple of hundred £ from Ukraine and some for over 500 from the states… I can’t figure out the reason/difference…

Oh mate it's a bit of a lottery finding the right ones.

I have been lucky with mine. Some here prefer other alternatives.

If you check out this thread it may help to identify them:

There is also some good information here:

I would urge you to try an not pay those silly prices though! Mine were about £450 from Ukraine and are just perfect.

No problem. I haven't been able to get any Melz because it's hard to find good ones at reasonable prices. I found a nice pair on eBay but the seller is asking US $999 and I'm not paying that much for them.

Try Sylvania 6SN7W, I find they compliment the WE’s nicely. Don’t bother with the metal base, they are silly money, and do they really sound better…debatable, but to a collector/user, they are nice to own.

That's odd................Is going from the DAVE to the May the only other major change you have made recently?

Could it be a May (do you set the volume or output level?) not a Envy issue?

Gonna share what 'it' was?

It related to a volume set on Roon for the May as output. No idea what happened or how, but it screwed everything up (technical term).

All I had to do was raise the volume on Roon and it was fine. PHEW....

Thanks for considering it anyway :)
