I am not really a believer of fancy cable. But , the higher quality cable usually have lower resistance and better dynamics. 8 wire cable definitely have a lower resistance than a 4 wire. When i compare the stock Roland cable to my 8wire pure silver cable it definitely sounds much clearer and the sparkle of the treble becomes more prominent. The Roland is a dark iem and pairs great with a pure silver cable.
Just ordered the S8 pro universals over black Friday weekend, would have gone for customs if I knew where to get ear impressions here in China (I practically just moved so don't know the word to search for it). Anyone know what the turnaround time is for the IEMs with custom shell art?

We just unboxed and had our first listen to the Roland. I had an open mind on this as it was my first time with Fearless gear and there are definitely some positives from the initial impressions.
I noticed the Fearless Roland is really sensitive to impedence matching. That Impedence and sensitivity eally needs attention.
I have two Linum Superbax cables. One that is 2.5 balanced and one that is 3.5m.
I always thought I could just use an adapter on my 2.5mm Balanced cable. But using an adapter 2.5->3.5adapter on my balanced cable really influences the sound.
While it sounds better straight out of my 3.5mm Superbax cable.
Or better way to word it, using adapters at the end of your cable with the Roland is a bad idea. (And the Roland is sensitive and low impedence for it to be relevant.)
I demoed the S8F while in China. I am not good in using the terms to describe sound. At the shop, the owner is so kind to loan me the Astell & Kern SP2000 to test with the S8F. Listened to Rolling in the Deep by Adele coz that's the only few English song in the SP2000. It is eye opener experience and I never knew the song is so lively and I am beginning to tap my feet while listening to the music.
Then, I switch to my own IEM UE900S and the song become so muddy and not lively at all.
To test further I plug S8F direct to my Samsung S9+ no hiss and very enjoyable. Switch to my UE900S into S9+ and this time the difference isn't that huge. Surprisingly, the UE900S performed very close to the S8F.
So I know that I need a proper DAP or a DAC dongle with my phone to bring out the full potential of the S8F.
My target now is ibasso DC01 and a used Fiio M11 in later stage. As my budget doesn't allow for a new Fiio M11. And A&S SP20000 is out of my reach.
If Fiio M11 is 80% close to SP2000 I would be very happy. If not the SP2000 will be forever haunting me.
