I just ordered the Symbio Ws after trying some Comply, SpinFit, and Azlas. So far the best fit/isolation combination seems to be the Comply 400 series I got but I'm still not 100% happy with them sound wise on the S8Zs. Fingers crossed I will find something that meets all my requirements.

What particular area on the S8Z troubles you?

Or you know, buy an IEM that actually has treble :joy:
You must have listened to the Roland also! Yes it's the damn recess treble. Never heard anything with that much recessed treble. But, its never fatigued to listen for hours though.

Try to cut the Comply 400 in half. I think it might surprise you if you think that the whole thing mutes high frequencies.

I suppose I worded that incorrectly, I'm quite happy with them but I'm trying to find the perfect fit/sound combo. Must be my weird ears :) I'm coming from Audeze LCD-X and Oppo PM-1s and this is my first "travel" IEM so tip fitment is just another new black hole I'm exploring as I'm always worried I'm potentially missing out on something soundwise. They're not as punchy but I absolutely love the overall clarity and imaging. I'm 99% sure it's a proper ear tip fitting issue but a comfortable fit is my first priority. No fun listening to good IEMs if they're not comfortable.

Understand. Tip comfort is a must when one gets a proper seal. It is a hassle at times knowing one or the other isn’t quite right. Anyway, glad you are enjoying your S8Z.

Could you clarify this??? You literally mean cutting the foam tip in half to shorten it??? I'm assuming you've done this?
Yeah, I meant that. I do that to a lot of my foam tips collections. The proportions I use the most (besides using the whole thing) are: 1/2, 2/3, 1/3.
In this picture I'm using Tennmak Ultra Foam tips, actually the best foam tips I have tried until now. The proportions are from left to right: 1, 2/3, 1/3.

I will also attach a comment that I made today about these tips:
Tennmak Ultra Strong Foam tips came today. 1595326900102.png
The first thing I did when I received it was to cut them in 2 different sizes and test. From left to right the proportions are whole, 1/2, 1/3. Each size gives different levels of highs and bass (applying the logic of shallow insertion = more highs, less bass), so I pretty much feel that my necesities are covered with this little MOD.
What a huge surprise, not only they're way cheaper and has more quantity than Comply foams, they're WAY more resitant and as comfortable as them.
My problem with Comply was that they recessed too much the treble and boosted too much bass. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the foam material, but this one feels totally different from Comply and it doesn't have those prominent problems mentioned above.
I have actually tried a lot of different foam tips from different companies, but It's actually the first time that I have liked foam tips this much.
I also have other silicon tips like Azla Sedna, Final E tips, Sony Hybrids, Ostry tips, spinfit cp 100, cp 360, but I think I have found my favorite earphone tips, and surprisingly they have been foam tips, something that I didn't like that much before.

Is there an after market cable similar weight of the Dunu cable with an angled two pin connector anywhere? I got the Dunu DK-2001 today and this cable is much more convenient than the cable that comes with the S8F which is IMO a bit heavy.

I could buy an MMXC to 2pin adapter and use the Dunu cable instead of the S8F cable. Is this a good idea?

You should check out DUNU’s website, they have a complete lineup of cables encompassing a broad price range, plus, many of them use removable connectors so it becomes super easy to go from balanced to SE.

I messed up in my earlier reply forgetting you wanted a 2-pin with the rounded design. Even though those adapters are tiny, it does defeat the purpose somewhat of what you’re after. Sorry about that. 😷

Very much. The A8 is a more complete IEM for me. Better bass and mids to be sure. The S8Z might pull away with ocd treble.

Also the A8 build quality is SO nice. MMM

I feel the same about my S8 in general, not in comparison to the Fearless S8Z since I’ve never heard it.
