Also to confirm genuine authenticity (and this applies to the IE6, 7 and 8) at the back of the box there should be a hologram Sennheiser sticker that has other little Sennheiser and True sound feel words when reflected in light, as shown below like my IE7's which I bought 1 week ago for $300 from a retailer. Fakes out there either don't have it, or have one that try to mimic the real ones but fail to have the True Sound feel/Sennheiser words when reflect in the light.
 
Hope this adds extra advice and caution to those buying in the future.
