Hi,

I chucked my ER-6 in bin last week as they were really playing up. I need to buy sub-$100 IEM with extreme isolation. I never liked foam tips with ER-6 so I would prefer flange (is that the right word?) tips.

What do you guys think about Etymotic mc5?

Thanks.

Doesn't the hje900 have pretty weak isolation?

More like pretty average but I still don't understand the recommendation... or the one for the ER4P.

The mc5 will isolate as much as your er6i's did, but they should sound better.  The tips you use will affect your isolation the most.  On universal iem's,  isolation really doesn't get any better than the etymotic tri-flanges.  Foam is probably next and then those standard silicone single flange tips.
