The Stone Roses' greatest song IMO and one of the most surreal and beautiful songs of all time. A staple of early Alternative Rock.

Is this a suitable candidate for this thread as it is pretty out there?

This song was made by a girl called Chieko - we were friends for a few years, back in the early Noughties when she was in London, but she went back to Japan and we lost touch. I don't think she's making music any more but she seems to have developed a bit of a cult following on YouTube, which I find kind of amusing because I'm sure none of them know who the artist really is...

Heron Oblivion:  Pretty sure this fits into Neo-psychadelia, perhaps a bit of shoegaze.  Came out a couple months ago.  Pretty good stuff IMO.

There's this cool song by The Boxer Rebellion called In Pursuit. Do any of you guys know what type of music it is? I'd say it's Alternative Rock with some Space Rock influences. What do you guys think?

I'd hang onto the glory days if I were you. They've just released their first single in 21 years and it sucks badly IMHO, Squire's about the only good thing about it, sadly. It sounds like a Garage outtake :-

I know. I heard it already. Nothing special to me. But then again I Wanna Be Adored has been binged listened to by me for a long ass time. That song is different from the others on their album. It's just got a surreal and trippy tone to it that the others don't have.

Most of my recommendations are pretty old, because I'm pretty old

First up - LUSH -- SUPERBLAST!

I'm not sure anyone's mentioned RIDE yet? It's hard to pick a stand-out track from their EPs and first two albums, so basically at random I will go with....

For me, Slowdive went downhill after their first three EPs (included as a bonus CD with their first album, except Catch the Breeze was ported to the album, not included with its original EP material).
I love the live version of Catch The Breeze, with female vocals instead of male, and even more intensity:

If any of you guys enjoy both heavy metal and shoe gaze then you should check out Hole In The Earth By Deftones.

If you want to hear black metal and shoegaze, you can't go past Katatonia's Brave Murder Day album (hugely influenced by early Slowdive), especially their song Murder:

Finally, an overlooked classic. Stereolab - Super-Electric (you might need to turn it up):

I enjoyed Souvlaki. It was a fine album imo. It wasn't as great as Loveless though.

I adore Lush. I love Monochrome and Nothing Natural.

Ride is one of my favorite bands. Too bad they only had one landmark album. Seagull is such a powerful song.
