For those who are still searching for an amp beautifully matched to the all-conquering-yet-hard-to-conquer HD800, I've just got the breaking news that an HD800 edition of Little Dot headphone amplifier is being designed. It's a fully balanced OCL tube design. Two 12AT7 GOLD will be used as pre-tubes, and four 6H30PI GOLD as power tubes.

The prototype will be shown tomorrow at a headphone gathering at Shenzhen. I just wonder if this is the world's first ever head amp exclusively tuned for HD800.

Sorry the links of the pics are from a Chinese headphone forum, and they don't show here. I have to save them to local disk and now they could be shown as attachment.

800SE will have both balanced and unbalanced out.
But I'm sure most people will be tempted to go balanced.

I think it's specially designed mainly for use with HD800.
The price will be $999.

Whoa. Any word on price?

And what do you mean by "tuned for the HD800"? Meaning tuned to what direction?

Any other details on it? Or is this basically just a re-tubed MkVI? Sure, people speak well of the MkVI, but it seems like they're asking a $300 premium for this.

And how come, in the one picture, only one of the two front tubes has a protector around it?
