I think you will find the ie600s will blow many 2k plus iems out of the water. 😂
For example?
I can list some iems in that range that i had and personally rate higher than IE600: U12t, Nio, IER-M9
Maybe Solaris 2020 as well, but it was a while and i would need to really compare them to be sure.

IE600 is a great iem for sure, but i wouldn't claim that it's the best even in $700 range.

Meaning best not to buy these from Sennheiser due to the warranty process that you need to pay for shipping cost?
Meaning multiple chifi bought at a tenth of a cost is still performing perfectly after years.

Well that's a matter of taste isn't it i have the m9 & don't think its any better than ie600, just like there's a few on here that prefer the m9 over the u12t.
Not many like to under rate their expensive iems compared to cheaper ones on here.
What do you prefer over the ie600 in the $700 range ?

Sure, i just wanted to know what exactly do you have on this list ($2k iems that are worse than ie600).

Not necessary prefer, but i think Variations, SA6, RSV are all comparable
Crinacles ranking list is full of them same as others opinions on the ie600 threads comparing them with ie900s.
I arnt knocking the $2000 + ones by any means I intend to purchase a few higher end ones in the not to distant future also.
Another well rated mid price iem seems to be the ier-z1r.

As I own both IE600 and IE900, I did this morning a proper A/B listening with a brand new IE900 (coming back from Sennheiser service) and results were not exactly what I had in my mind before doing such comparison :
-> for a few months now I use the IE600 daily every evening/nights, I was really pleased with the sound quality, so I was not in a hurry to send my out of order IE900 back to Sennheiser a 3rd time, as there is a 2 years warranty.
-> I was going to sell as soon as possible the IE900 as it had no real sense to keep both with similar sound quality.
but ..............
-> The A/B comparison for 3 hours I did, was undoubtedly in favour of the IE900, particularly in low and ultra low frequencies. I know Crinacle don't like the IE900 and prefers the IE600, but, I think I won't sell the IE900 anymore. Now, I have no idea how he could find the IE600 to be better than the IE900, so I am not really sure he has such a reliable advice, though he also really likes the IER-Z1R, and it's still my absolute reference for sound quality too (not for comfort).

I imagine Crinacle didn't do any A/B comparison between the 2 Sennheiser's... I think, I can catch Sennheiser's segmentation and the step up between IE600 and IE900.
Now.. I don't say that the gap of price between IE600 (700€) and IE900 (1500€) is fully justified, as the price gap seems to be really too huge.

But, as I already own the IE900, I think I will probably always miss something in sound quality when I use the IE600, so I won't probably sell the IE900 anymore and probably mainly use it now, with hoping it won't be out of order soon again a 4th time.

Follow what your ears say. I only watch Crinnacle for entertainment purposes, but don’t follow his advice because most of the time, the stuff he likes I really enjoy. The IE600 is definitely one of the better IEMs because my ears interpreted as such.

It's interesting to hear comparisons as I'm pretty sure the IE300/600/900 are all using the same driver with the only differences in the shell and passive acoustic chambers.

I think so too.
It was definitely the case for me, with a year between selling IE900 and buying IE600, but i can still say that mids sounded wrong on IE900 on some of my music, but never on IE600, and because of the mids being a bit more forward bass and treble seem to be more balanced too, even if it doesn't look that way on the graph.
And any possible technical improvement is less important when tuning is wrong.

I agree with you & I will be purchasing the ie900 also as it is on my list of future iems.
I don't don't just go by Crinacles ratings but also others views & rankings.
I usually find if an iem is very popular with the majority it usually gives you a good starting point. I even enjoy my ie300s. Lol

Yep, this fad started off with Andromedas as the corners gets scratched off easily. Yes, no fit issues as the back part is open.
Where can you order the protection?
