Exceptional in Every Detail: Say Hello to the IE 600

So I did a thing. The IE600 case is fine, but I wanted something special when I take them out of the case. So I got creative and designed a new top for a Shanling C1 case. The Shanling C1 is ok, but the top needed a new highlight.

My first idea was to put a Sennheiser logo in a 3D printed part, but then I remembered a headphone that played a big role in the history of headphones and for Sennheiser as a company. I am of course talking about Sennheisers very first headphone, the HD414. It came out in 1968 and it had golden lettering on its shell, proudly displaying “MADE IN GERMANY”.

So I took an image of the headphone and started designing an insert for my aluminium Shanling C1 box. I didn’t want the letters to get damaged when I throw the box in my backpack, so I decided to put the lettering under a watch glass. I spray painted the letters in gold and polished a 3D printed outer part that resembled the HD414. I think it turned out pretty good and I am very happy with the result. I thought you all would like to see it.

Thank you @Sennheiser for over 50 years of great headphones. I hope you stay around for a very long time to come!

This is absolutely, positively DOPE.

WOW!

Thank you for sharing this (and taking the time to make it, too!). Bravo!

Still waiting for conformation on when sennheiser will be delivering to Australia & New Zealand. Not a hard question to answer from such a big company surly.
So you know, we haven't forgotten about you, and we're trying to dial this in with a reliable date 🎯

Why so? Isn't Sennheiser capable enough to make a model to compete (or complement) with their own higher-end offering at a lower price after an entire year? Isn't it what R&D is all about?

According to your previous reviews, it always seems like expensive = better, even if this kind of contradictions occur:

So, the IE900 with clearly more scooped mids than the IE600 is now more "neutrally tuned" and "reference"?

What is "reference" for you, guys? The actual IEM response or their price tag? Maybe the right words to not upset your sponsors or manufacturers who lend you their products?

Hell, even Sennheiser sells the IE600 as the versatile option with neutral tuning...

Again, excuse me? The mids are cleary so much more pronounced in the IE600, how they could be "not as pronounced as in the IE900"?

I don't think Sennheiser would punish you for a bit more honesty, on the contrary, you would gain much more credibility across the entire community.
That's why their global website ranking drops. :p

Part of the reason why I started my own site. Unfortunately, I'm too busy to write reviews these days. Hopefully, I can resume again.

Tried the IE600. Not a fan and i won't recommend it.

I have high expectations for it due to the hype. Don't get me wrong, IE600 is a good product but there are better options in the market. Time will tell if this is a successful product.

For example, Oriolus Traillii is the benchmark for TOTL flagship IEMs after a period of time.
