Hey guys just got my ER4Ps from amazon today. The all black version. First thing i noticed is that these really are much more clean and pure then the vibes lol. With an amp and the p to s adapter the bass is enhanced right?

With regards to your iPod, an amp hopefully means you'll be using the iPod's line-out. That will improve SQ significantly.

With regards to you ER4P's, they have an enhanced bass response compared to the ER4S. Using the adapter will nullify this and smooth out the highs a bit.

I bought a used ER-6i kit for $6 shipped.

Cable was stiff and nasty, flex pcb in the right driver had one cracked trace. Fixed and recabled with ibud cable.

I've got the ER4Ps with a P to S adapter, Mine are the red/blue ones. I'm curious, do the black sound any different? Or is it just an update to the housing?

I have er6,re6i,er4ser4p.I use 4s with amp at home.er4p without amp at work.
the wires on the both /are a bit bulky.

After only a few weeks, upgraded from ER6i to ER4P (I still have the 6i's). I'm #244 on the list.

These are my first truly hifi phones, all my rest have been budget.

Despite my initial impressions, I ended up not being in love with the er6i's, so I returned them. I tried the Westone um1's (which are about the polar opposite if the er6i's in every respect) and didn't care for them either. So, I've now ordered a pair of er4p's, which should get here Monday.
