LOL! He bought his last amp a couple years ago. Wait...then there was just one more. Hang on though, this next one is the last. Ugh, maybe just one more.
I said the same thing about buying tubes in 2010. That was probably 500 tubes ago...

Ken, do you have Voskhod and Reflektor 6N23Ps from other vintages? Can you tell a noticeable difference?
I would rather buy a cheaper year, unless audible difference is big...
(or unless you decide to sell a tube or 2 from your private collection )
Zachi before I make you spend more money, let's consider the 6P15P again. I have a slight preference of the 6P15P over the 6P14P (EL84 equivalent). Need to verify this again. Back to back with the Tung Sol 6f8g bgrp, the 6P15P is more revealing and has a light and airy touch that makes the Grado RS1X come alive even more...
There are not much difference between 6P14P and 6P15P. I like them a lot. If there are no other tubes, I would have been happy with them in WhispEr.
What are the sound characteristics of EL84 sound? If I may borrow Mojotone's description because I can relate to what they have written.
In classic British-voiced amps, EL84s contribute to sonic characteristics that we hear as chime and shimmer, with a certain glassiness in the highs, a balanced midrange, and a reasonably tight low-end.
I hate those click-bates...
I actually thought you were serious. Sigh.
BTW, in the past, when trying tubes with top cap thingy - they were ALWAYS noisy in my place. Picking up interference from WiFi or radio or aliens or whatever! So, I would have avoided these even if price were reasonable.
Sounds good! Will definitely have 6P14P and 6P15P. Also, German EL84 on its way as well as RCA (US made) EL84 pair.
Between those 4 pairs - I may be all set
