ENIGMAcoustics Dharma

myself i had learn that for someone with experience, the Dharma is one of a kind of an headphone...sometimes review are not about comparison but about heartfelt moment of discovery... and an hybrid headphone is difficult to compare to non hybrid one...The hybridation is a great success apparently, this is the most important  news for me...Perhaps someone else will compare it systematically with the best headphone on the market... For now it is new product, and the reviewer seems in love with it...This review is more the affirmation of a success than a detailed comparison with this or that...this is perfect for me...

Hence it is the FIRST detailed information about it,the rest will follow with more people interested with it...best regards to you all

I just had the privilege of getting to play with the Dharma for a month, straight from Canjam RMAF.

This is my "if you had to pick only one headphone to take to a desert island", headphone

I'm almost at this point as well.   Comparing mentally to my HE-6 (driven well out of vintage powerhouse with speaker tap connections) and A/B with the HD800 that I thought was the end game for me - if the rest of the weeks' audition goes as well as the first three days, I'm buying it no question and selling the HD800.

Any comparaison with a "full electrostatic" SR009 or SR007 ?

I know you are a moderator and all, but I want to be honest and let you know that your review had at most two tiny paragraphs that touched on the sound quality, and even then, not much of it.

First half was all a history of EnigmAcoustics and the rest was really just poetic writing about the look and feel and build of the Dharma. Could you summarize exactly how these sound and make some comparisons in the process?

I really learned nothing new from the review about the Dharma.

Head-Fi Moderators are "Member first, moderator second".

As long as you post to me, the same way as should be towards all members…with respect and dignity, I don't mind if you disagree with me. That's what we're here for.

If you prefer a drier, more scientific-based type of review, then there is another one on the internet you can read. Beware that the facts of the crossover cutoff are incorrect, as per ENIGMAcoustics...which I pointed out.

The "two tiny paragraphs that touched on sound quality" is a little underrated, in my opinion. But we are not here to review my review. Take what you can from it, and I hope I made the journey a little enjoyable. We have many choices in modern day www-land.

I am playing with the Dharma now and  to say that Immtbiker nailed the sound  signature in his review. Totally awesome headphone especially for the money. This is exciting times with all the great. headphone hitting the market. The ENGMAacoustic Dharma is exceptionally for the money.

Immtbiker: I thought your review was fantastic and really enjoyed the read.

LIke many of you guys, I've been patiently following every development on this headphone since I first heard about it many months ago. As hard as it always is to be patient until we can buy our new toys, I LOVE that Enigmacoustics have taken their time to fine tune this thing before officially releasing it.

I'm happy to say, not only have I just placed my order, but I FINALLY have officially become a customer of Todd at TTVJ. I've asked him questions over the last couple years, but for whatever reason it just was never in the cards for me to make a purchase from him directly. He's always been so courteous and helpful, I'm really glad to be able to send him some money for the Dharma. He's a class act and I'm happy to support his business, even if it's just a headphone purchase (for now).

Looking forward to hearing more from you guys on these exciting headphones! I'm even more excited after hearing back from Steve Guttenberg on twitter...he says they can not only hold their own agaisnt my beloved LCD-X (as of now, the most PERFECT headphone per my tastes and preferences), but it's also quite different. I was planning on buying the new T1, but the Dharma sounds like the better choice for right now.

Can't wait!!!

Now that the same-as-production-models are out and people are getting more time in with them, it's great to be getting some reviews with meat on them.

Very excited to see how things go, hopefully I'll be joining the team when I can.

For another intro/teaser, John Darko also posted an little interview that he did at a recent show. I guess they've changed a few parts of the design and build. Looked good to me.

I thought the review was perfect. That is, it was well-articulated, it made me feel like I was there while the review was being done. It made me even more excited to hear the Dharma. It sounded real, not like someone was giving me the gears, not a shill overhyping a product.

So, Dharma, MicroZOTL2... Now just to find the right NOS DAC....

Yes I have seen the MHDT Labs Pagoda too. Reviews aren't many but I suspect it might be a step up from say a DAC-19. Although I'm not sure about a tube DAC. I don't mind adding some color through the amp with tubes, but I think I want the DAC Ultra neutral.
