Just curious as to why the cable in the picture looks like it has a 3.5mm single end termination, but the words say 4.4mm?
Probably because the image is a render and they didn't have a 4.4mm model asset to use.

If my moon reading language is of any use, I think it reads roughly as "available with 4.4mm option", which probably means you can choose between 3.5mm or 4.4mm for preference.

I'm new to Head-Fi, and I recently picked up the Annihilator as my first high end IEM.
I was debating getting multiple cheaper Chi-Fi IEMs that punch above their weight over this, but I was thinking, if I get a good IEM, might as well pay all at once and get 1 IEM that I will use for a long time. Am I doing this right? lolz

I think so.

It’s better to get something you’re really satisfied with, (if it takes something that’s totl,) vs. a bunch of iems that you’re kinda happy with, but leave you wanting more.

Just be aware, you may soon want multiple totl iems as well…

😏

Well that is the problem... whether you have a TOTAL or a Mid-Fi, and as much as you are satisfied with it, after a while you will want to try and have more.

Recently received my new Annihilator from Lee. They look great and sound incredible!

I’m surprised, that’s quite a fast turnaround time. Congrats lol.

I have the X and just got the Gaea. The Gaea are gorgeous and have a very nice fit (much smaller than X). I will say that I’m finding more and more in this “hobby” that tip rolling is probably the most critical aspect to enjoyable sound (and to a lesser extent comfort, since I will endure discomfort to get the right sound). Everyone has a unique size and shape ear canal, and each UIEM has a slightly different shape and nozzle length, so experimentation is critical. For me, most of the time the AZLA xelastic optimize the seal and sound for most of my UIEMs, but for some the Spinfit CP100+ work best. Anyway, enjoy the Gaeas.

since the new smaller shell, I suppose that the different fit change a bit the original tuning or not?

We await your comments to see how the Gaea is compared to the Annihilator 😊

Lol, yeah it wasn’t too bad in the end. 2.5 months 😅

I have been comparing it with the older demo unit that I have with me atm and it does sound a little different. The new unit sounds smoother through the mids and treble, and the bass a little more extended into the sub bass regions. I’m not sure if that has to do with the improved shell, the cable, newer drivers, or a combination of all three.

The demo unit I have is also slightly damaged. The right channel p-ear connector is loose, so the connection drops out intermittently.

Will most definitely share a comparison between all 4 IEM’s :)
