Dunno about you guys, but whenever a new cable comes in, I feel compelled to play some musical chairs with my IEM and cable pairings. I just want to make sure that each IEM is benefitting, from the most optimal cable for it, out of what I've got here.
So I'm sitting here rolling cables, and I was reminded of just how good the Centurion is. Its cleanliness is next to godliness, lending a purity to the music that is hard to quantify with words - but it's that transparency which allows for a fine resolution of details that is just superb. At the same time, it's by no means sterile, as there is a sense of naturalness so that great IEMs can really sing, musically. Ergonomics are also top notch, as it's incredibly supple, and especially given that it's an 8W cable.
Is it the perfect pairing for every IEM? No. There are some pairings that seem to be matches made in heaven (OtL for XE6, Ambition for Macbeth, etc.). And even though I have Anni 23 here, I've permanently assigned the Centurion to my Jomo Audio Alpha Ti. So it's not necessarily the single best cable for every situation, but it's never far behind. And every time I do one of these personal rolling sessions, I am continually surprised by just how consistently well the Centurion performs. It's just so good.
I honestly don't know if EA's ever going to be able to top this, which kinda makes me a little sad.
