what I meant: i'm kinda afraid the cleo will take away some of the ve8's signature warmth... i'm a sucker for sweet mids from acoustic guitars and vocals and i've started wondering whether code 23 (or eletech socrates) would have been a better match, synergy-wise, to achieve the desired results.

It should complement the luscious VE8 mids! I don't think it will take away the mids from what I recall with Cleo I heck Cleo II is a lot more mid focused than Cleo I I've had which was more subbass focused. Cleo II also has that silky smooth highs and it's not as "fast" sounding compared to other pure silver cables hence no way it would take away any mids from VE8

Much to early for a valid judgement, but let me say, that I definitely do not regret that I bought it after my first hour listening to it... It sounds amazing with my Neon Pro.

I mean, it's a top EA cable, no one can answer cuz none of us has one, which of course means you gotta get it and report back! However, having both 8w Ares and Cadmus, with the Cadmus FE available now, I'd say grab it while you can, if you can.

I will be able to make a direct comparison. This is an exceptional chance.

So, with the Aure Ringo's, the Ares S 8 is... perfect. I can listen, re-listen, analyze, it's perfect. Period.

Total synergy. Absolutely nothing is missing, on the contrary. It is at the same time rich (very classy ; not really "warm", even if it's "warm" but not overly warmish, because it's perfectly balanced), dense, meaty, magnificent timbres and tones, but at the same time limpid, explosive, dynamic, snappy, very lively, very refined, very extended (from bottom to top end). The 3D effect is also particularly good : a lot of volume, depth.

In short, it's realistic.

So, based on this observation, what will the Founders Edition give?

I expect something different. But "better"? I can't imagine it.
