Eddie Current Balancing Act

It so happens that I received my units back from Vinnie after since my last post. They have been "cooking" for about an hour and as you can imagine it is too early to make a final decision plus I need to install a set of NOS 6922/6DJ8 valves. For now I am smiling as I type this.

Might be wrong but don't think Icarium was suggesting that the BA is better than the 30.2 for driving the K1000...maybe just that the combo was not going to show what the k1000s can really do.
From my memory, thought both the BA and 30.2 was ok for the k1000s.
Never heard a direct comparison of the 2, but the BA was never intended to drive the k1000s either...it just doesn't have sufficient power to.
I own both the BA and k1000s and I don't use both together.
My 300b set power amp is significantly the better combination with the k1000s.

Also want to say that my amp costs significantly more than the 30.2 so 30.2 maybe a good value for it's price point.
Not sure about that since I have no clue the level of performance for other amps in the 30.2's price range.

I've got LCD-2s and they're a great match with the BA.  I posted some impressions either in this thread or the LCD-2 thread (can't remember which).  I'm running mine balanced with a cord provided by Audeze.   Basically, it's a stunning combo.  I had balanced SAA Voice recabled HD800s and the LCD-2s are a much better fit with the BA.  Same resolution and clarity but with better center-fill, cohesion, bass and dynamics/punch.

I'm also checking the LCD-2s out with the balanced SAA Endorphin cable now.  I'll post some impressions after they are fully burned-in.
