FLC 8s and Sm9 comparison:

Bass in sm9 narrowly ahead.
There is equality in the sub-bass.
Sm9 vocals, vocal and instrumental complexity because it is in front of the instrument can be experienced.
FLC 8s' vocals and instruments as they are in the same position, instrument and vocal discrimination sm9 above.
Again in the ring, fuzzy guitars and drums 8s, clear and realistic than sm9 giving these instruments.

Sm9 the scene, but far ahead 8s' FLC little wider than the vocals does not mean playing a scene because width.
FLC 8s instrument of discrimination and the very high level of realism.
There Sm9 on instruments in the event of a slight ghosting or treble pitch.
Again sm9 the stage depth, due to the little heard of rear instrument, FLC lags behind 8s again.

Was listening to Boatmans Call by Nick Cave last night through mojo. Quite stunning. Great emotion in the voice, wonderful bass

I just listened to it, blissful :)

I find that with the Mojo vocals are way more forward than with the ZX2, also better detail and texture... and bass are just the right amount, what strikes me is how bass is impactful even at low listening level... Definitely a very good pair with S-EM9!

Hi, just to clarify, are you saying the soundstage and imaging of the S-EM9 are better than the FLC8?

When you say that, does that mean the sound sig isn't U-shaped anymore?

The Mojo is a beast of a device.

I haven't listened to many sources with the S-EM9 yet, but out of the ZX2 the sig was clearly U shaped although very much less so than with the Velvet. With the Mojo it's not flat but pretty much a very stretched U with slightly prominent bass and upper range. The mids are also more balanced as in the lower mids dip is not as apparent. Then again I would need to get a listen on different quality sources to get a definite feeling on the S-EM9 tuning.

But Earsonics published sound sig makes sense with the Mojo, except I would put the dip in lower mids instead of high mids and I would say it's more permissive than recording dependent and I would say it's more whole than detailed in the presentation. Also soundstage has better depth than width.

Thank you. Explained perfectly.

Considering the post above if SM9 has as "shining treble" as "Velvet" that's a complete disaster. Who is taking these decisions in Earsonics to make so horribly sibilating earphones like Velvet and ?maybe? SM9?

Haha hi buddy, glad to see you've joined us here. I know how you feel about the Velvet, but the S-EM9's treble is much smoother. I think according to the graph, the upper midrange dip refers to the 5 khz spectrum and is specifically to reduce sibilance, another trademark of ES, although the upper midrange is forward and exciting. Alltogether, the S-EM9 does not have a great deal of sibilance and is much smoother than the Velvet. I will do some testing for treble energy later on. But it suffices to say the S-EM9 is not a 'horrible sibilating earphone'

What is the cable connector used?

Is it the 2-pin or MMCX, or a custom connector?

Can someone post pictures of the connector?
