hey all -this should be my first post here ever-
I'm in the States for awhile and thought I should take the chance to upgrade my gear.

I am looking for an amp for my portable listening system and hopefully it comes with a DAC to better the output from my MBP.
I am currently leaning towards the E7 (anyone knows where I can still find them?) for its DAC and its two outputs (so me and the girlfriend could enjoy!)

other options I'm looking at are the E6, E11 or the A10.
if not, something like this? madcap http://madcap386.blogspot.com/

hoping to keep my budget low <99

Portable Rig
iPad 2 (mainly Spotify), Sansa Clip+ on UE TF10
Macbook Pro on UE TF10

Other headphones that I may use this along with
Senn HD 201
Monoprice 8323

any suggestions/advice?

thanks!

E7 is $60 from Amazon. I've been considering one too. I have an E6 and it doesn't do much for my M50s but does seem to make a bit of a difference with my Klipsch S4 buds. You could use the E7 with the iPad since it has USB support but will be worthless with the Clip since the 3.5mm output would be the only option with it, the Clip would pair better with the E11 since its just a step up from the E6, no DAC?

This is all based on my personal use of the E6 and reading reviews and what not on amps since like I said I too am looking into an amp, but there are a lot of factors to consider.

Amazon still list the Fiio E7 for $62, but the new Fiio E07K should be out soon (guessing).

thanks for the replies!
i saw the E7 for $60 on Amazon.. but I've read some threads saying they may be fake? (as in not those E7 specifically)
http://www.head-fi.org/t/619800/should-we-hide-the-truth-will-it-affect-you-to-buy-fiio-products-if-we-tell-you-that-there-are-fake-fiio

are those products on Amazon safe?

I just got the FiiO E11.  I had previously been driving my V-Moda M-80s straight out of my iPod Classic.  With the FiiO E11, the sound is now more smooth, full, and spacious.  It is a nice little upgrade.

That thread above is interesting, kinda sucks because the two stores they list to go with that have the E7, "head-direct" & parts-express, are selling the E7 for $90 compared to the $60 on Amazon. Sonicelectronix is an authorized dealer and they have it for $76

Found this in that thread too http://www.head-fi.org/t/616893/black-list-of-unauthorized-retailer-in-us-amazon-updated-on-20-07-2012

Updated my post in that thread, checked my E6 and it appears to be legit and from SMICORP

Was reading this thread earlier (http://www.head-fi.org/t/566351/fiio-e6-story-of-the-tiny-amp-continues-w-review-on-1st-page) and a few times there were comments about how the E6 is actually better than the E7, and the E11 is a step above the E6. Or maybe wait for the E07k?

Hi , This Is the Fiio E07K
http://store.treoo.com/index.php/main/fiio-e07k-andes-portable-headphone-amplifier-usb-dac.html

Its $99 Singapore Dollars . If Converted To US Dollars , It Should Be Cheap . Shipping Price To The States or UK im not sure .. But Its Def Worth Getting The Fiio E07K . Since You Can use it with your Mac As A DAC .

It is $102 USD.

So does the E7 act as a headphone amplifier too when using it as a DAC? If so, then why is there a bundle suggestion for the E09K? If the only amping it does is when its not through USB DAC then I can see why the E6 was said to have better quality. E11 will most likely be my choice when the time comes
