Hello, i have a pair of E4C's and the one side has static/cutting out, i have narrowed the problem to near the jack, if i twist it, it will work right for awhile.

How can i get this repaired?  I'm guessing its not to hard of a repair and i think sure wants close to 200 bucks which doesn't seem to reasnable.

Is their a cheaper way to get this done as i love these earphones?

Thanks!

If you have a steady hand, you can do a primitive splice repair yourself. I did this to my ER6. It works but doesn't look pretty. I used a jack from a stock earbud using a few inches of that cable from the jack...cut off a few inches from the IEM cable.

If it's still under warranty, Shure will replace it for free within two weeks. I had my SCL4 replaced a few times and Shure's customer service was top-notch.

it's fairly easy or should i say very easy.
i had the same problem and just repair my e3c yesterday.
all u have to do is slice the cable near the jack or where the problem is
get a 3.5mm plug, for me i have some spare neutrik plug so i used them
all u have to do is solder 2 wires and the shield as ground to the plug and u are done.

Cost -  3SGD - neutrik plug
silver solder i have for diy projects & some heat shrink
