I doubt the usb 2.0 is the reason. My Macbook Air 11' (late 2010) running yosemite 10.10.2 is only USB 2.0  but my DX90 have no issue with my machine.I use COG for music and VLC for video. My issue with DX90 is,after the latest FW is to get it to complete the scan. There will always be a jinx somehwere. But  at this point,it doesn't bug me that much that I'm fine with folder scan.

will be very interested in whether discerning listeners feel 2.30-L1 FW alters sound signature in any way from 2.30-L0.

Some people claim they hear the difference by flashing the same firmware several times, or by performing factory reset several times, so I won't be surprized :)

Seriously, I have a hope that L1 may improve the situation for those who are affected by fade-in/fade-out problem. I still believe that it is caused by wear leveling activity of the SD card, and, as such, I expect an improvement from a driver that runs read-only most of the time.
Is it possible to use custom EXFAT driver with 2.2.0?

Of course, it works with any firmware version, and even with any Android device, but I don't want to return back.

I am flashing 2.30L1 now. I shall try for a few days and report back if the fade in/fade out problem will be resolved.

Since 2.20 I had experienced much fewer occurrence of fade in/fade out. I find the fuller the capacity I fill my SD Card, the more likely I get the fade in/fade out problem.

Guys,

Just a heads up, my unused DX90 which is in pristine condition, is for sale in the classifieds for £190 (shipped FREE in the UK). Never used so ships with original firmware and all original accessories. Battery charged every 3 months to maintain it's integrity.

Cheers,
Andy.

I have just released 2.3.0-L1 firmware build.

I've put my build of exFAT/NTFS drivers there, and that's the only difference from 2.3.0-L0. The main goals were to avoid unneeded writes, and to avoid file system damage on accidental power loss or hot SD card unplug. Most of efforts were made for the exFAT driver, which I prefer and recommend to use for the microSD card in the DX90 slot.

Thanks Lurker0
you are a star! I hate to be a  pain but is there any chance of applying this recent fix to the 2.0.0 FW. This particular update is the only one that sounds fabulous with my set up! (A83)
Thank you most kindly
