Improvements with this firmware:

1. Support .dff DSD file.

2. Support DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256.  All DSD files will be played at 24bit/192kHz.

3. Support 32bit/384kHz music in truncation to 24bit/192kHz.

4. Allow to work as a USB-DAC for Mac and Linux computers.

Release will be within one week.

Will the USB-DAC function require Mac/Linux users to install drivers?

With gapless fixed. I consider this the biggest update in a long time.

Why not 176.4KHz for DSD? 192KHz requires resampling!

Sounds like a great update but I agree with lurker0 176.4kHz is a more obvious and direct conversion than 192khz Maybe next update?

Man, I'm really curious about DSD and I want hear how it compares to FLAC and ALAC but nobody sells music I'd actually enjoy in the format--and even if they did each album would cost $30. That is completely unacceptable to me. No digital recording should ever cost more than a vinyl copy of the same album, irrespective of its quality.

Just to check it out take a look at Onkyo's music site.... A lot different selection than say Linn Records and many can be purchased per song.

Well, I'll be damned: there are some things here I'd actually enjoy. That's a rarity in a market that seems to cater only to fans of classical, jazz, and "rock" music recorded before color TVs were invented. Unfortunately for me, my DX90 is somewhere between Miami and Moscow right now and I won't have it back for nearly a month—and all I have to fall back on is my FiiO X1, which doesn't support DSD. (A month is a very, very long time when your favorite audio source is on vacation.)

I've bookmarked the Onkyo site for now, though. Thank you very much for the recommendation!
