Guys is it really normal.. My friend's dx90 is becomes hot.. Not that really hot but you know, its really warm.. Its in the Silicone case.. Any advice?

I've been on the fence about the DX90 for a few weeks after having returned my AK100 and reading the early reviews about the Calyx M (was really hoping it would be better). So I have turned my attention to the DX90. I posted a question to Ibasso asking if the DX90 can serve as an external DAC so I can connect it between my Mac and IEMs. The reply I received today was that they will release a USB-DAC driver for the DX90 next week. That is good news and may seal it for me.

  Switched up to High Gain following advice upthread and glad I did. I'm loving the sound of this thing.  Just ordered a 128gb card to celebrate 

I am using se-846, and i find the synergy of se846 with the dx90 should be mid-gain, high gain seems to make everything not from the middle blurred away.

It is my understanding from iBasso that the first driver released will be for Windows 32 bit. The drivers for other platforms will be released once iBasso secures the necessary certificate permissions.

I agree--I plan on keeping this player for a very long time. I'm very satisfied with it, so I feel good about getting a nice case for it. I do love the look of the brushed aluminum, but know it can scratch easily. Now, I just need to get some other IEMs, worthy of the DX90!

I've had the DX-90 on all day today (~7h) running with the burn-in cable and it is warm on the bottom. Certainly not hot by any means. I have the larger 4400mAh battery and the silicone case wrapped around and the top (screen side) is cool) and the battery feels warm.

For anyone contemplating the 7200mah battery, it looks like it will 'fit' the DX90, but there would be approx 5mm of wasted 'air' between the rear of the DAP and the largest cell of the battery, and it may also protrude by approx 8-10 mm past the top edge of the DAP:

Basically, I would suggest avoiding the 7200 and go for the 4400mah instead.
