This is an intermittent issue. Sometimes the channels are reversed and sometimes not. When they are reversed, replaying the files corrects it. Clearly not a hardware fault. I'm not sure whether this is specific to one genre or not.

Last night, the channels on mine were consistently reversed (various tracks, various file formats, multiple plays, two different sets of cans). You know, violins on the right...

Here's hoping tomorrow's firmware update fixes it!

I know iBasso is a small company, and they probably needed the cash flow from early adopters to finance the final stages of development, but IMO they went about this the wrong way.

Perhaps they should have allowed us to pre-order (and pre-pay) at a discount, and waited with deliveries until the product was ready.

Are you affiliated with any Chinese company?  I noticed you are listed as being from Shanghai and both FiiO and IBasso appear to be from the
Guangzhou City area.

Yet your torrent of negative comments encompassing every possible aspect of the iBasso company and the DX50 can only make one wonder if there is some ulterior motive at work.

I kindly disagree. I don't believe there is any ulterior motive here, this product does not work correctly and that is the bottom line. I've spent hours reading threads, "cleaning tags", and loading SD card and this device still wont play not one Flac file or most of my mp3 files. If an SD card loaded with the same files loads and plays on a Fiio X3, a Mac book pro, a PC, and a Galaxy s3, but not the DX50, then clearly there is something wrong with the DX50.....don't you think? That being said, I agree with the OP, I just may not be as vocal on these forums as I do not have the time. In essence, I am disappointed, as I feel I have wasted precious time and money on this device. However I think it has potential, and I have an X3 to hold me over as Ibasso hopefully resolves these software issues. I love these forums, but I don't think it is fair to make assumptions just because someone has a difference of opinion or issue, which is why I did not complain to much, as I did not want to be a newbie to Head-fi getting flamed for legitimate issues. I mean, isn't sharing information one of the primary functions of a forum such as this?

P.s The Fiio X3 was full of issues when it was first released as well, as I had the dreaded SD card issue with the device not picking up all of the files, and I reported my issue in that forum. However, that issue has finally beed resolved by Fiio and the player runs well. What is the difference here?

Ok. I got hit by severe bug, the touch screen does not work, all the hardware buttons work, including UI animation when pressing volume, shutdown message, but Im unable to use the touch screen. Tried restarting multiple times, did remove all my files except one to test nothing worked, any suggestion ?

This just happened to mine.  A hard reset (hold power button for 7 seconds) would not fix it.

The way I did fix it was to remove the battery while the unit was still switched on.  When I put the battery back in and powered up, the touch screen went back to working fine.

The channels went back to normal this morning, but the player was very recalcitrant to boot up. Now it won't scan an SD card, but only works in browse mode. Furthermore, it now also cuts out halfway through any HD track.

I am in no way affiliated to any Chinese consumer electronics company. I am a British national working in China, in a completely different industry. It is just that, when I pay full retail price for something, I expect it to work properly. Period.

I have, indeed, said very positive things about the DX50's SQ on numerous occasions. I just don't want to waste my precious time doing their beta-testing for them - that is their job.

I sent iBasso an email about the reverse channels, they're aware and apparently patching the bug with firmware in 2 days?

None the less it's reassuring to know they're aware and also it can be fixed.

Hi,
Thank you for your email.
We have noticed the reversed channels problem. We will fix this bug and release the new firmware in two days.

Sincerely
