I am not sure, he bought the unit from me and I guess somehow when I erased the device through the android settings maybe something went wrong and it looks like the FW got corrupted.

Unfortunately I don't know how to help here other than refund him and take the DAP back and handle it with Paul since I bought from iBasso direct, so I am just waiting to see if he can fix it.
I will deal with Paul. This is not your fault. $hit happens. Its an opportunity to learn more and make more guides :) I don't think anything less of you because of this and will give you good feedback. When one buys off classifieds this can happen. ITs got a warranty. Its just bad timing the entire country of China closed down. I do have my Bloom unit which is back to working perfectly so not without a 340.

@mattclarke18

Quick question, is there a firmware file for the older firmware that I can flash onto my DX340 via QFIL and does it remove my root access if I do that?

I want to test if its a problem after updating the firmware that my DX340 stutters when playing DSD512 files....
It's all a bit weird that there's no consistency. I had no troubles charging from the get go and I flashed the new firmware with no issues. Go figure.

I waiting for new firmware to go online & also the new Amp16.
But right now, I'm more than happy with my 340. The sound quality is just crazy good! 👍

Same strategy here. Stock FW, no issue. Had to deinstall/reinstall Tidal and Neutron to have both apps behaving as they should. No problem afterwards.

I had to buy tool kit $45 from ACE to get the stupid torx screw to remove AMP card but battery really EASY to replace. End connector of battery held down with metal clip that is screwed down. Have to put back together now but less than 5 mins to take out. Did not need any pry tools. Battery is back in place. Very easy to do.

For some reason, I'm still having DSD512 problems with UAPP, Neutron and Mango Player App.

On UAPP it's gotten a lot better since I reset my DX340 and debloated the player but occasionally on random areas of the DSD512 tracks, there will be a stutter or pause for a second and then it will automatically resume but replay 3-4 seconds worth of the track.

I've contacted UAPP support about this but still waiting for a follow up reply.

I don't really use Mango Player App or Neutron these days so I shouldn't really worry about those apps.

Anyone else experience this issue at all? Try to play a DSD512 from start to finish, if there is no stutter then there is something seriously wrong with my DX340.
Either that or there is a problem with the firmware on my DX340.

Is it possible to flash an older firmware version on my DX340 via QFIL even if my player is rooted?
I do not have issues playing DSD512 whether Mango or UAPP

The UAPP can not play bit perfect DSD512 because it is inconflict with the way the 340 as a whole system operate. Just uncheck that and you are good

Interesting, is it because of the 1-bit Discrete DAC?

Even with Bit-perfect off on UAPP DSD512 also stutters for me. Such a bummer. I will await a response from the UAPP team but I fear there is a problem with my DX340 itself.

It seems Mango Player and Neutron also stutter as well.
Mango OS I haven't tested yet.

Do you think I should try to do local update for the latest firmware again to see if reinstalling it fixed it? Or reinstalling the same firmware wipe the root access I currently have?

Did you have it rooted ? UAPP utilizes more processing prowess than MangoOS. Go to Kernel and set audio app cpu cores 4-7 and increase minimum frequencies, apply on boot and restart

FW issue. My DAP was doing that too!! Working fine now. There is something wrong with that IMG. IT is not flashing the partition table.

Oh so how did you fix it?
Did you run the same firmware file through local update?

You can't do that. IT won't let you install again if you are on same version already. Tried that. I flashed again and started working like it should. Maybe pure chance.

Is the battery 2 pcs? Or glue together?
