Just a quick survey. What do I guys have for: 1. Gain setting 2. DAC gain setting and 3. Filter (H1-H5)
So far I’m using low gain, high dac gain, and H2 the majority of the time.
In my experience so far the dac gain seems to work like turbo on the R8II just not quite as intense.
Pics of 340 taken apart. Hardest part which I do not know if I did right is battery cable connection has to seat on board exactly right. Won't know until I can get FW on right. @Whitigir should these go into your thread?

After debloating the player boot up is much faster than before as well as responsiveness while in Android mode.
Upping the CPU High and Low frequencies and setting CPU Governor to Performance in a Kernel Manager App (Root Required) UAPP (which normally has a little lag when you have a large library) is almost lightning fast when loading up albums ect.
My Walkman boots up in 50 seconds.
I'm looking for DAP that has faster boot time,I can probably tolerate around 20 seconds boot up time.
Does the 340 boot maybe under 20 seconds?

Ignore what I wrote and let others chime in. There is an issue with flashing FW that needs to be fixed and my DAP is still using some info from older firmware version so that is likely causing boot to be slower for me. Sony is laggy all the time. Had 1m2 and sold it because could not stand lag. SQ Sony is using tricks to boost bass etc where 340 is what is actually in your music and it reveals EVERYTHING. IF you want more bass you can EQ. The stage and micro detail of 340 are in a different planet better. Also has much more powerful amp so can drive anything. 340 has 8GB RAM and 665 CPU and 256GB internal memory. You don't have to worry about iBasso capping either.

What would you suggest as the easiest, safest way to debloat. I have ADB app pro but truly have no idea what I'm doing with Android.... Can you out line what you did, short of rooting, that you did to debloat? Thanks

Wait until I get answers from Paul about flashing FW before doing any Root or FW flashing. To remove bloat is easy. Just copy and paste from my list into Console. No root needed. I currently have an expensive paperweight until Paul gets back to me with answers which could be a simple thing like a config change for FireHouse.

I love the Sony sound so I bought it at that time, but as time pass, one major turn off for me it's the boot up time, when I'm excited to listen to music in a bus or car, the boot up and database loading time killed my mood.
The Sony is not fast but I can still tolerate it browsing apple music and local.
